I installed the newly rebuilt carburetor and the fixed EGR pipe and the truck ran fine. The next morning I went to start it and it wouldn't start so I adjusted the max idle speed screw.
Now it is idling really rough and runs super rich. I have spent the last couple of days adjusting the idle mixture screw, idle speed screw, and max idle speed screw but to no avail. The timing is fine and on gas it runs solid but it is blowing black smoke pretty good and idling rough.
I am sure I somehow managed to completely mangle the settings on the carb screws but I wanted to check and see if anyone else had any ideas. The FSM isn't much help. I replaced the plugs also but it was running rough before that.

Step 1:
Check all my vacuum lines and make sure I didn't cross anything
Step 2:
Reset the screws and keep trying to dial them in.
Step 3:
????:meh:

Could be the carb float level. Is there a glass viewing window on the front of the carb? My 22r had one. It was easy to see if the level was too high. I had that problem years ago, and just needed a new needle/seat in the float bowl. Ran great for years after that. You'll need a manual to do the initial install and adjustment.

Good luck
