PSA for anyone looking to buy in the next few months:

Toyota is halting production for May/June according to my sources. I would expect inventory to dry up quickly and prices to rise. May be a good time to buy, especially if you’re picky on color combinations. As new ones get sparse, used values will rise. If you’re looking to sell, I’d wait an month or two, if you’re looking to buy, I’d do it now. I’m not a Lexus dealer, so I can’t comment on LX. I also don’t know if it’s the factory “as a whole” or how this effect international supply. Just getting the word out. FWIW

The bigger question is.............what are you doing posting this at 3:17 AM on Saturday?? Just couldn't wait to drop this tidbit?

GMs sure get up early to do inventory..... :D That's dedication!

LOL... I have to prepare stats for my whole-store Saturday morning meeting which takes about 3-hours :-( And lucky me we can't have 100 people in one area, so I have to record it on my webcam with screen capture and have it posted by 7:00 AM so my staff can watch in on their phones. Good times....

Like permanent halt? Or who knows kind of halt with pandemic?
in context to Another 300-series rumor thread

Like permanent halt? Or who knows kind of halt with pandemic?
May/June I don't know why but probably safe assumptions with the current status of business in general

I’ve read the west coast ports are running out of space to store new car arrivals so this is probably a good thing.

what kind of inventory is in the pipeline? Are there still cruisers working their way to dealers from Long Beach?

I probably can't say actual numbers w/o getting in trouble. But not many, <2 per state

I believe land cruisers are built at the Yoshiwara plant in Toyota city. I take it the production halt is for all cruiser models worldwide or only a USA thing?

No secrets here.

Read all about it directly from Toyota.

I am under the impression that LCs are made at the Tahara plant

@Eric Sarjeant - idle curiosity, what port of entry is used for the Eastern half of USA? I was told most come to a port in Georgia, but not from a reliable source.

I was under the impression there were only three ports for Japanese vehicles for TMNA (Prius, 4Runner, LC200, etc) which are Portland, LA, NY.
With that said, it could be different for Gulf and Toyota Southeast Regions. I get all mine from Portland.

Port of Baltimore as well for TMNA Japan vehicles.

Southeast Toyota Distributors: Brunswick, GA and Jacksonville, FL

Gulf States Toyota Distributors: Port of Galveston/Texas City area.
