What gears did you get? Thanks.
I thought I put this info in my build thread, but I guess I didn't.
Looked through my saved emails and I was only able to find this from MetalTech:
The answer is yes! :) for the front you will need an ARB RD121 for 3.73 & Down gear ratio, or ARB RD111 for 3.91 & Up. The rears are all the ARB RD193 locker. Hope this helps! Let me know what you decide and I can send you a quote for the lockers. Thanks!
-Chris

Although, for some reason, I think I went with different gearing per the suggestion from Eric at YotaMasters.
I also just looked through all my receipts from YotaMasters and they did so much work that my receipt is just a total and not itemized.
If you can call Eric at YotaMasters at: Yotamasters - Quality parts and service they can tell you the best gearing to use.
Sorry that I can't give a finite answer right now...

I think they only offer 4.56 and 4.88's. I would likely go 4.56 considering we are all running 34's or smaller but I want to say that in order to use the ARB air lockers you have to go to 4.88's. If I am forced to run that low of a R&P then I am going to do my best to get a true 35" tall tire and a 315/70/17 is only 34.4" tall.

I've already had conversations with Carl at Nitro Gear last year about the GX. 4.88 is the way I am heading.

Wanting but not needing the Rhino rack short bat wing awning had me re-purposing my ARB 1.2 meter awning off the back of the GX. With the swing out right door and using the awning wind break (not pictured) I should have decent wind/sun/weather protection. I’ll end up purchasing the bat wing eventually but the ARB will suffice in the mean time.

Instead of a fixed awning, I came up with my own invention.
I call it an "Awnbrella".
A 9' x 6' rectangle umbrella with grommet holes along two sides to attach to my rack.
I can attach this to any side of my vehicle and it is very sturdy especially if I stake down the white stand. Or, with the folding stand, I can free-stand it anywhere!

Installed a few little items this weekend. Ditch lights and brackets, bumper lights and mounted the solar panel. Waiting on Redarc BCDC charger and sPOD to wire everything up. I did manage to wire up and check my radio comms. Ordered a different antenna for my HAM. Longer cable to route out the back door to the roof.

Which fairlead license plate bracket dod you use?

Looking good!! 👍
iKamper (the RTT I have) has a solar panel package for the iKamper's that I'm looking at, but gosh-darn they are expensive!
Makes me want to just do the Amazon solar kit and call it done. It just won't be as slick.

Are you using a roller fairlead with synthetic? The old fix for clips used to be the mag light clips.
Yes, roller fairlead for synthetic. Hawse fairleads cause friction, friction is heat, synthetic winch line starts to melt around 187 degrees.

Amazon panel and a Victron controller with Bluetooth if you don’t have a Redarc BCDC.

Sliders arrived yesterday. Ordered from Demello. They are super stout DOM steel with 4 legs attached to the frame. I’ll be taking them to my buddies powder coating shop Monday.

Another reason for this slider is I want to be able to easily put a strap on the sliders to anchor or belay off of them. It’s a rig that is not needed often but when you need it you really need it!

For the full story on this recovery go here.

This happened approximately 6 months before we formed

This incident was a major push for me personally to become a trainer and get the information out to the off road community.

That was a prime reason I went with a slider without a top plate. Adding 1" wide, black skateboard grip tape has worked perfectly for stepping on. Never have needed a full plate.

Prior to slider installation the frame and parts of sliders that won’t be seeing regular cleaning or daylight will be receiving a coating of Cor-Ban 35. It is a corrosion inhibiting coating primarily used in aviation. A single coating will last about a year. I will reapply annually every fall starting this coming fall.

Installed my Demello rock sliders yesterday. My buddies powder coating shop was able to do a quick turn on them. I love the semi gloss finish, smooth!

If you do a lot of your own work I can’t recommend a transmission jack enough. I was able to lag bolt a 42” length of 2x8” to it and a couple quick grips to clamp the sliders down. With tilt, roll, up and down adjustment makes this a breeze for one person.
