Congrats on solving the problem. How do you like the V3s? What did you put for the back?

As far as solved, it's still in the works. The dealership has yet to quote me a repair cost but have hinted at the $3000 range. They have outright said it will not be covered under any sort of warranty. Seeing as it was parked at home at the time I'm thinking of going through homeowners insurance. Has anyone used homeowners insurance for automotive repairs?

I ended up putting V3s all around and am pretty happy with them. I'm not totally pleased with the mounting system as it is just a friction mount and not designed to twist and lock. As for as output, I'm happy with them.
Now I need to track down some better reverse lights. The LED options for the 194 base is pretty limited and caters more towards the license plate or marker light. Not quite the output I like for seeing what's behind me.

Replacing the knock sensor harness, plus labor, should be under $1000 (had the exact same thing happen to me). They may have quoted you the price to replace all the knock sensors, which is unnecessary. Labor, to remove the intake manifold, is where the majority of the bill comes from.

And don't forget moth balls when you are done. This is the time of year the little bastards are looking for a nice, warm home.

Wow, I thought dealer will take care of you since it is a brand new truck. Dealer becoming a stealer.

How did you fit the v3 in the back with the big heat sink? I have put different bulbs there as didn't think the v3 will fit. I may want to change it now.

Reverse I have bought from sleds as well and very happy.

@luke27617, how would mice chewing a cable be covered under any manufacture warranty? I'm curious what your thoughts are based on your comment.

Brand new truck and it may have happen still on dealer's lot or on the ship to US. Things may have just became visible after delivery. I had good and bad experiences with dealers. With buying the most expensive vehicle Toyota sells, the dealer may go an extra length to please a customer. I had one dealer who went beyond and even offered to buy a car back and replace it with a year newer.

I understand where you're coming from now. Thank you for explaining. That is rather amazing of a dealer to offer a replacement.

It was a Lexus dealer where I live. They are top notch here and know how to win a customer for life. If not the 16 LX ugly face, for sure would buy it instead of the LC.

Agreed on the LX face. The 16+ LC front looks great. It has a blend of aggressive styling while still being appealing.

I was able to stick the resistor heat sink on a inner body panel just inside the hole that feeds the harness to the taillight. The entire 7443 adaptor, resistor heat sink and harness assembly fit well into that cavity. The heat sink in the LED was a tight fit but worked.

Very cool, getting V3 for the back turn signals too. BTW I got the 921 5k for reverse lights from vleds.com as well. Great output. Fully recommend. License plate replaced as well.

I just got my 200 back last night. Toyota took care of it. They replaced a section of the harness and the knock sensor and didn't charge me a cent. Big thanks to JSP and Mike at Wilsonville Toyota for making this right.

I pulled those ridiculous running boards off too.

I'm still collecting parts for the Airbag light fix. Stay tuned for a write up!

I'm local, would you mind PMing me which dealer you were working with? I'm thinking of checking out the '16s up.

how do you like the 285/65r18 KO2s? Do they hum at 60mph? did you notice any MPG difference?

I didn't drive the dunlops long enough to log an mpg with them so I can't compare but I would guess based on the additional weight of the tire and the more aggressive tread there would be a slight loss of mpgs. As far as hum, I don't notice any. The added side wall seemed to smooth the ride out slightly.

great to know. I am ordering those right now :) for my 2016

I drove nearly 6000 miles on them this summer, and averaged about 18MPG on the highway...which is great, considering my speedo is actually slower than reality. So it was closer to 19. That's pretty darn good in my opinion...especially considering it was loaded to the gills with gear... All on regular unleaded, by the way.
