I had the same feelings about the screens. They are easy to remove. Pop off the plastic cover at the mount, remove three obvious nuts and unplug two wiring harnesses. I also had a custom interior shop near me create a cover with USB ports.
Wow! That looks great! Care to PM me your guys contact?

Weather techs and 285/65r18 KO2s went on yesterday.
For those interested, the 285/65 spare fits underneath with room to spare.

Plazma LED signals (and electronic relay), markers, reverse and plate lights ordered and shipped today. I still can't believe a truck with such a substantial price tag in 2016 came with so many incandescent bulds.

I'll be dropping it off for tint tomorrow and will post pics when I get it back.

Something to consider for turn signals as I have as well changed all non-LED bulbs in my 16LC. I have not tried the plasma bulbs but have notice with regular bulbs the front was not bright enough for people to see it well. I went with my trusted source from vleds.com and bought for front v3 triton and for the back since there is not enough room their high visibility 7443. Even those 7443 are very bright, still cannot match the fronts. Those V3 are amazing. Since you have your set already coming, please share your experience and maybe a video. Thx

I installed Lumen Plazmas that I sourced through CarID in my LX470 and was very pleased with the output. They are a lot brighter than the stock incandescents. I was less than pleased with CarID however. They sent the wrong bulds four separate times even after their customer service Dept confirmed they had the order correct, thier stock room pulled the wrong bulbs. So between shipping back and forth and the return/exchange it took nearly six weeks.

That said, I order from a different source this time around and am not entirely sure what brand these will be.

Nicely done, looks like a professional finish and you have removed the unsightly and amusingly bizarre monitors. Do you mind sharing the shop who make inserts for me to also order? I have been thinking about this problem for a couple of months now...

Thanks,
Peter

I'm itching for a 2017 and hate those screens. Please send Details on the screen removal and the new covers with USB if possible.

Ok. There appears to be some interest in this. The process took a bit and I needed to leave my truck at their shop for a week or so.

I'm going to contact the guys that did this and see if they can pump out a batch that can be easily DIY installed. They can use my truck as a base. I'm not sure if the USB option will be that simple to DIY but they maybe with a bit more noodling they can figure out a plug and play there too.

Give me some time and I'll repost.

Thanks for your help on this .... is that a GS in the background? I am on my 4th R1200GS and love the off road riding!

So this was a head scratcher of a weekend. Scrapped the Plazma lights in favor of the V3s from vled.com as per Luke's recommendation and based on what a PITA the relay is to get at. However I did install the Plazmas in the meantime. To get at the front DS turn signal I had to remove the battery. Upon reinstallation, I have the CEL and TCS lights on as well as the "reduced engine power, see dealer" warning on the display. Anyone know why or how limp mode was triggered or how to clear it aside from a trip to the dealership. Will this happen every time the battery is disconnected?

I don't have an answer to your first question, but I've removed the battery numerous times in my 2016 LC and have never had any errors/warnings.

I've removed lots of batteries from all kinds of vehicles and have never seen this. I'm totally confused.

Yeah, that's pretty bizarre. Have you tried disconnecting the negative terminal on the main battery for 5-10 minutes and reconnecting?

Yep, tried that. And tried the Various Toyota code clearing step I found on a handle of sites, none of which were LC specific but I gave it a try anyhow without any luck.

Installed the V3's on Friday at took it in to the dealership to get the CEL cleared only to discover the knock sensor had triggered the fault. After digging in, it seems mice have chewed the harness. With only 147 miles on the clock...

Congrats on solving the problem. How do you like the V3s? What did you put for the back?

Awesome job on the screen covers. Wish someone would make them available. Obviously some demand for them.

I hope the screen hole covers can be made available, even if without USB ports. I'm considering a '16+ and the first mod would be removal of those humorously awkward LCD screens.
