Congrats @vandir!! The GX secret is all just about out folks. Be prepared to see a steady rise in value nearer to LC / LX territory.

I’m thrilled to of gotten our GX470 unicorn and now my great GX460. We are already in territory of making money on these if we would sell them—not that we would mind you.
Thank you @MrTorgue !! I like the way you put it. ROI but not willing to sell ;) I will be on the same boat too. Loving my GX460, the fit and finish is so great didnt feel like a 10 yr old SUV. I will share some pics shortly.

I got my GX because I wandered in and just happened to ask if the Toyota dealer had any and they just got one in that day which had not been detailed or anything. While I was looking at it 3 other people showed up and were lurking around waiting for me to leave. It was what I was looking for so put a deposit on it and told them I would buy if all looked good after a detail. Before that missed out on a handful that were reasonably priced. I was looking for something with under $50K miles though, not sure what pricing is like on ones with higher mileage.
@ScotyDosentKnow : I couldnt find anything with that kind of mileage suiting my budget. I was looking for something <$15K, lower the better. I started with GX470 but couldnt find a good one. Then bumped into GX460 and pulled the trigger. I paid $16.8K + taxes for a 2010 GX460 Premium - 168,000 miles. Well i know its high miles but I was very happy with the entire service records. Very well maintained, infact the wear n tear on the driver leather seats was very minimal.

What mileage and price was yours if you don't mind me asking? Mine was 55k and $25k last September.

I've been curious to see if we see a rise in value on them.

To the OP, $21,500 seems a tick high in my opinion, and I was shopping January/February 2020 and kinda had a feel for the market, so either the market has changed that much or it's a little too high (in this one guys honest opinion). I was seeing 120-140K mile 2013-2014 for $20-$22K. My 2010 base with under 100K was several thousand less.
@jmanscotch : COVID changed the market dramatically. With ppl stuck at home, many of them started indulging in outdoorsy activities, myself included. There is huge inventory shortage -new and used cars, and the demand is so high. Atleast in California/West region, there is shortage for sure.

I mean more of a long term rise. A good example is the Jeep Wrangler TJ here in Colorado. I used to buy them 6-8 years ago for about $4-5,000 for a 140k mile one. They’ve gain so much popularity in the off road community that those same ones today go for $8-10,000 or so.

Tell me, in a few years, that my GX is worth 200% if what I paid and this sucker is for sale immediately lol.

My 2010 460 with 134k miles was $15k in August. The 2008 470 with 169k miles was $11k (water pump/timing kit and tint done that added $1k) back in March.

Used car market went on a tear in general when COVID hit... even my old '07 G35x went up 17% since January.... granted it still isn't worth a lot but noteworthy increase.

Here’s similar mileage, but 2011 premium for $15,000 in my town. Point is just to say you can find them, so don’t be in a rush and overpay. Dealerships may want to charge more due to demand, but plenty of private sellers aren’t.

Totally agree with you on that. Dearlers are making a merry this time. Even I felt i ended up paying ~$1.5-2K above market price. Patience pays...

Acrad! You are a friggin' walking GX encyclopedia, man. Always lots of useful and good info.
Interesting chart. I had someone recently ask me if I was interested in selling and said they would give me $5-6K over top blue book since it had the mods (this was before I got the sliders), and I was intrigued for a minute, but then flashed back through all of the time, effort and $ spent, and felt immediately tired and like I was going to sell a beloved pet or something, so nope, lol.

I too have been thinking of selling my rig, since it's all set up and being it's a 2013 with only has 75k miles (and all maintenance). If someone were to offer a wee bit over what I put into it, I may be tempted to take their money and wait for the 2021 Bronco's.
I'm keeping my iKamper RTT, unless they offer me an additional $4k.

This is our eventual play as well but I am waiting for a late 2022 or 2023 model Bronco. I want to see the SVT model and the diesel option roll out first. It's also a good idea to avoid the first year or two so that they can work out all of the bugs and the prices should level off by then as well. The initial launch went fast and no one is going to see those until June of next year. By the time the 2023's hit the lot I should have the GX fully built with around 75-80K miles, it'll be out of drivetrain warranty and I'll likely be ready to move on. Unless of course the Bronco doesn't scratch my itch and the GX continues to grow on me then I'll keep her around for the long haul.

Was just talking with my wife today about keeping our GX for a few years and see how the Bronco turns out. I'm not completely sold on the Ecoboost engines. The 3.5 has been ok but lots of issues with the smaller displacement engines. Just not sure about them long term and fixing them out of warranty will be very expensive.

Yea that's a concern of mine as well. I am not particularly a fan of the eco-boost motors in general regardless of displacement. That's why I am waiting for the diesel motor option to be released hopefully by year three. It's hard to argue against the reliability and durability of the 4.6L V8 or simply Toyota/Lexus in general. I might feel differently about letting the GX go in another year after I sink another $5-10K into this thing lol. I need to spend some time in the new Bronco before I get serious as well, it's hard to judge the interior space simply from pictures on the internet. I somewhat fear that it might be just a tad too small for my taste, I won't know until I sit in one.
