Dave, Eric, Brad and I had a good time on Sunday running the roads up there. Had one issue with some shooters and I guess a tree stump was on fire...but that was really it. 300 U and V were fun, little bit of ice on V coming up the hill. Lots of people and DUST! It was a good day though.

Yep, lots of dust. I'll post some pictures soon.

And remember those expired tags you guys spotted on my truck - the ones I've been driving with for 6 months?

Got busted by a statey on the way down the mountain :bang:

The forecast is calling for a 40% chance of snow Saturday night and on into Sunday with a 50% chance.

The 4runner is sold and officially no longer my vehicle, and my Jeep is not finished, so I have to take the red truck out on Sunday. Since it doesn't have a winch, I might need some help on the Sunday outing. We usually break up the groups to have at least one winch in each group. The Sunday list is looking pretty short, so depending on the snow, if you can make plans to come out that would be great. Maybe some of the Saturday guys can change to Sunday?

Of course with these weather people, who knows what will happen...

Latest model projections have 2-4 inches over Teller County Saturday night into Sunday morning. Still several days out and I'll be on the desk Friday and Saturday...so I'll have more detail on snow by then.

Congrats on the sale of the runner!

It would be no problem for me to switch to Sunday, but without a winch myself, I don't if it would help?

Let me know if you need and extra set of hands out there on Sunday and I'll switch (or possibly do both).

Careful now - we got one of "those weather people" running with us :D

Congrats on the sale Luke

Bummer on the ticket Eric, but that is a really long time to be expired.

If I am out at all this weekend it would be Sunday pm., like around 2pm.

Heading out for an elk hunt right now back in time for a Sat. morning hunt with my daughter. :D

Also, for those interested in the Dec. meeting/party please sign up so we can get a head count.

I may need to move to Sunday because the girls karate testing was moved from 12/15 to 12/8.

It's gonna be COLD on Sunday, but I figure its better to sit in the truck all day rather than sit around the house all day.

I'll be there.

I received my new mag mount antenna for the HT. Can't wait the try it out.

Its a Diamond MR77SMA so its magnetic mount 1/4 wave on 2M that has SMA connector for HT.

Now I just need to not break it right away. I'm kind of tough on antennas......well and every thing else as well I guess.

Congrats on the sale Luke

No doubt - still don't know how I missed that. Or how I got away with it for 6 months! Legal now though.

Hoping for that snow on Saturday night! :bounce2:

I'll be up on Sunday with my friend Eric riding shotgun. I don't have a winch, but I'll have a come-a-long and some creativity.

Just put out the forecast...looking for 3-6 inches Saturday night into Sunday afternoon for the Woodland Park area. Just enough to make the trails fun! Bundle up though...should be pretty cold out there with highs in the teens...

I can make it out Sunday and have a winch. See you at the western station 0830?

I was just talking about meeting times with Corrigan. The official meeting time was never posted this year. Seems like everyone is meeting at 7:30, leaving at 8:00. I thought i remembered meeting at 8:30 leaving at 9:00? Not really sure. I vote later is better, I hate getting up early, and I live 7 minutes from the western... Can't imagine how early you have to get up living in the springs.

This past Sunday we met at 8 and left around 8:30. That was based on your post on the 2nd page!

I'll be at the Western at 8:30...ish on Sunday.

This post is from Jim, the non-member who drove the green 3rd gen 4Runner last Sunday for the xmas tree patrol. My wife Marylin drove her yellow FJC on the Saturday patrol. We teamed up with Jeff and Karen. It was good to see Sam and other club members again for the 3rd xmas season. Sorry I couldn't remember everyone's name. I will be on xmas patrol again Dec 8 and 9 in the 4Runner, riding trail as Jeff's wingman. I will be going directly to the middle-school. I hope this is okay with the club, as I know you have an xmas-tree agreement with the Forest Service, and the club was considering limiting participation to members-only this year. I'd like to explain:

Jeff is a good friend. I appreciate him. He has been working hard, doing year-around volunteer work for the Forest Service, and I have worked the trails with him on occasion thru every season. I have gotten to know Rick Ellsworth and appreciate his work as well. Jeff and I clean up campgrounds/shooting areas and move trees off the trail, as well as report problems to the FS. It seemed routine for me to "sign up" to do xmas-tree patrol with Jeff this year, and so I didn't think it necessary to post-up with the club, as Jeff works directly with the FS now. I saw some surprised faces when Marylin and I showed up for this year's patrol. We apologize for not posting-up and showing up "unannounced" and perhaps without the club's permission.

In fact, we want Club members to know my wife and I would like to be considered for club membership, though it is almost impossible for us to attend the 3rd Tuesday meetings, as we have an on-going commitment every 3rd Tues. Maybe something could be worked out.
