Here is what we've got a handle on so far:
  • TAC ad - done
  • Registration - Peggy has the lead on this - online registration is open
  • Food - Ed is going to do the meat again this year, there will be a seperate thread for food sign
  • Raffle Prizes - Amanda and I contacted a boat load of vendors back in March/April, just waiting for all the sponsors donations to roll in.
  • Banner - Chris can get, I'm just waiting for more raffle prizes to come in, so far only 1 company has sent me a logo
  • T-Shirts - The plan from the annual meeting was to use last years artwork unless anyone has come up with something new, and get the shirts from the same source as last year
What we need:
  • Kids event - need someone to take the lead on this
  • Timed run - need someone to take the lead on this
  • Tech inspections - I have the lead on this
  • Firewood - SMORR does not allow outside firewood, so we can either purchase it for $5 a bundle, or bring some chainsaws(I'll bring mine) and cut some of our own.
I'm sure there are other things I'm missing, so feel free to jump in and add to the list.

Can't wait to see everyone there!

Colin - I can help were needed - glad to do stuff like help cut firewood, other manual labor, etc.

I can also make foods, etc. - We make some pretty mean dutch-oven cobblers in scouting - maybe there could be a dutch oven cobbler "cook off" around a camp-fire, etc. Kids dig that kind of thing.

Sign me up to help with the kids event - not sure I should take the lead this year - need experience here, first! :)

Colin, I"m grunt labor, wherever you want me. I'm probably not the person for the kids event organization.. Maybe Chris would be best for that? He's got more kids that most of us.. and Cooper is about that age..
I might be able to look at a truck and tell if it's gonna be safe, I can possibly work well with rob, and I can help heckle those that break and want to be up and running again, or let me correct that, I can assist with repairs... So I got those things going for me.. Really you just tell us what to do or what you need us to do. Don't sweat the small things..

Hope I have a truck :) Otherwise I'll just have to drive/borrow my old FJ40 and Peggys mini and hang at camp. Which i'm not opposed to either options. And there's always probably going to be a red FJ40 sitting at camp cause the owner will be running around organizting the event. :)

Just let me know what days you need/want us there and i'll ask off.

I am currently on the TLCA conf call for the month of july and Bodean who is the marketing vp for tlca has put together a TLCA flashlight for sale in the TLCA store. On top of this they have a set of 5 i believe to give to each TLCA event for use in the raffle. Someone would just need to get ahold of "Bodean" here on mud.

I plan on attending with my 6 year old son Caden also! I have not been to this before, don't know what to expect but will help where I can.

School

We had a blast last year!
IF and that's a big IF.... we make it this year, it will be for Saturday only. Brendan has school on Friday and I hate to pull him out of it!!!
Have fun! Keep the down side down!!!

Is there certain camp sites that should be reserved? I will be bringing my travel trailer (my wife refuses to camp without it now!) And didn't know if I should reserve a certain site or not. We are going to try to head out around 1 or so on that friday which will put us there around 6 or so that evening.

Colin let me know Jenn can get stuff from bodean for you and I can check with TLCA home office for schwa for event. I live fairly close

All the electric sites are in the middle of the camping with the tent sites surrounding the electic sites. Most of the activity was on the west side of the campground.

If you look at their map, you want he sites that back up to the tent area, they have shade. The ones in the middle do not. Rob and I usually reserve a spot ahead of time.

I'm not seeing a thread on this event with information on dates, location etc within the Trails - Events - Expeditions section of MUD. I have had several people ask me about the event and I dont know where I should send them to get all the information. I searched and only found information from 2010. I think early communication is key to getting people outside of the TAC club forum to attend. If someone will send me all the detailed info I will be happy to post something up.

Still needing some volunteers to take the lead on a kids event and the timed run if we want to do that again.

As for the kids event, Erik and I can scout out an easy/quick trail close to camp for the kids run, something that any rig can make it through and won't be too long and boring to all the kids. We can do a lugnut/parts scavenger hunt like last year, if someone can just take the lead on organizing/hiding all the stuff. I know where someone has a TON of lugnuts that we could probably use if we returned them.

The course for the timed run last year was nice because it was close to camp and provided good viewing for non-participants. We can use the same course, or scout out a new one. If someone could take the lead on scouting out a new course and/or keeping times for the trial.

I think that was a dig or request not sure we can dig out more interesting parts as well think kids would have fun carrying a starter. Or intake?

Wife and I can take the lead with the kids - I just haven't been before. I see us mostly camping and me trying to hitch a ride with someone on the trails. My 62 will likely not do a lot of serious wheeling - so we should have time :)
