Are you meeting up with anyone else? I will be there Thursday with my 80! Make sure to top off on fuel in case you have to come back out through loon lake due to too much snow in the Tahoma section above Cadillac Hill.

The last I heard from Tony was the change to the Wednesday wagon run. So I'll be meeting up with anyone who might be there.....
We are Probably going to stay in Placerville the Tuesday night and be there bright and early Wednesday.

Sorry about that Jeff but yes, need to bump you off another run. Not having our usual wagon trail leads really put a damper on that run. I have left you a voice message accordingly.

Dinner Saturday night and Sunday Tahoe exit

Just confirming that there will be a dinner on Saturday night and exit out the Tahoe side on Sunday.

Folks who want can still exit back to Loon, and in many ways, we recommend this confirmed approach.

Itinarary:

Wednesday Double Locker Run Mudrak 2 PM Little Sluice
Thursday 7 AM @ Loon run straight thru Dion Mattei and Yodaman
Thursday 9 AM @ Loon Buck Island overnight Glenn White, Manny and Knorr Bros
Friday 6:30 AM @ Loon Straight Thru Matt Stoffregen
Friday Sweep Marlin on Marlin Time

Friday
Committee Awards, Marauder Bar

Saturday
Dinner, Raffle

Sorry for any inconvenience created.

Is anyone planning on exiting by going back to Loon? For some reason I did not like the drive from the Tahoe side back to the tow rig at Loon, though it was quite scenic.

My group will be camping at Buck Island the whole weekend.. Cruising down to the springs on Friday and Saturday to hang out.. We will be heading back to Loon on Sunday.. Not sure what time though!

Yes, plenty of people heading back to Loon Sunday. Knorr bros., Manny, Georg, Glenn, Dion, Larry K., and many more.

Cool, I gotta make contact at the springs then and figure out things from there.

Got your message Tony, thanks. I'd love to move the stuff off the roof, but then I'd need a trailer. It's all light stuff, sleepings bags, clothes, etc.
Anyhoo, see you all Thursday.

It's not so much the weight, but also the height. I think you will have some issues as you go through the wooded sections with branches hitting that gear box. Additionally, as you lean to the drivers side, you're probably going to scrape the box. There are several areas where it could happen, specifically down by the springs as you exit towards dirty dozen.

It is o.k. Enigma, Wooooody packs his rack onhis 40 and I have a rack up top as well. There are a few spots where you may want a spotter to watch but generally it is a go. I however do think the weight is an issue. every 100 lbs or so that goes up there makes a difference in how you can drive.

The weight over the cage thing. GRRR... I put a roof rack on my rig just for this trip, to gain storage space (it won't be permanently installed though). But I am not looking forward to the upset in CG. I am still trying to watch what I am packing though. We'll see how this goes.

Loaded and packed and ready! Hit the road in early AM for 9 hr drive to Ice House. If all goes well with the tow, will be at Loon @ 8 AM Wed :grinpimp:

where is the best place to park a tow rig and trailer? Noah and I are heading up for the friday am run and will be getting there thursday night-ish?

Pardon the newbie question but I havent been up there before...

I usually park next to the Chalet in the big lot(right to the left after you pass the camp grounds). Or along the road between the 1st and 2nd dams, just watch the signs.

You can also park below the dam by the trail head but its pretty easy to get blocked in there. Hope that helps.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who made the journey to attend, and thanks for everyone who supported the event by either donating raffle prizes, working as committee, purchasing raffle tickets or simply stepping up to lend a hand!

The weather was perfect, the trail was clear and open, the Springs looked Fantastic, the mosquitoes were not as vicious as years past, and the bears were out in force.

Highlights:
Committee Awards. I felt the committee awards was successful and I know I had a lot of fun.
M-bar... epic as usual, Jeff has stories to tell and if he does not, I will.
Dancing at M-bar! Woo Hoo.
Horseshoes! Tom Holton and I took the purse, and then raffled it off.
Dinner! With Ross cooking, nuff said.
Raffle... how many bonehead mistakes did Tony make? I counted two solid. How about that two envelope final prize with Mike Kulzer and Matt Rodriques? I'll be ready for their curve ball next year.

Put this one in the books.

Thanks TLCA for a great weekend. Now let's see some pics!
