OH-NO ALERT:

No Ouray photos any time soon.

**I was in a serious accident today and destroyed my right knee, wrecked my left wrist, may have broken ribs, and ground a lot of skin off. Knee snapped sideways--the kind you cringe at on video.**

short version of complicated story...
I was in a chase vehicle on an aircraft runway, photographing the deployment of an emergency parachute device launching from a vehicle in front of me. Parachute launches like a rocket & used on ultralight aircraft for total plane failure as a last-resort parachuting of entire craft.

Bottom line, due to my driver hitting the accelerator like a drag race for some unknown reason, I flipped backward onto rough blacktop at 40MPH+ and I'm seriously screwed up.

I'll eventually post Ouray photos, but I only have use of my right hand right now. Wife propped iPad on a pillow to tap this out with a photo from my phone.

Skin is *least* of worries...but here is my left forearm:

Shoulder & leg are worse, but knee just pretty awful.

Prob destroyed my huge DSLR (it was the lens that was screwed up in Ouray...but pretty sure body is toast now along with an $1800 lens).

Knee is serious concern. Will need surgery for sure.

Sorry for the icky photo.

Oh no! Heal well, I hope you have a good orthopedic surgeon to put that knee back together! Lucky you didn't bonk your head on the ground. I spend a lot of time on a motorcycle, hitting the deck at 40 is serious.

Thanks.
Coulda used a motorcycle helmet and body gear... Or just a better driver.
I should have taken more precautions though, so it's really on me...

Mark, so sorry to hear that! Heal up quick, though I know the knee will take a while to heal after surgery.

Holy crap man. Glad you are still alive. That's just awful. I'm so sorry to hear that.

So sorry Mark. Sounds horrible. Your 200 family is thinking about you.

Well wishes for a speedy recovery

Get well soon man! Rest up and go slow.

sorry to hear that, hope ya recover fast!

To all,

Thanks for the well wishes and kind words. I truly appreciate it.

I aapologize that it kinda interrupted this awesome thread...

You guys are great.

M

PS. Gotta get one o those Phantom 4 drones! Just plain cool...

@Markuson, I am so sorry to hear about your incident. I wish you a quick and healthy recovery.

Hey guys - I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new winch (Warn ZEON 12s) .. I know I have seen a warn compatiblilty guide for the standard ARB bull bar. Do any of you know where this is? I want to make sure it will fit before dropping the cash

I run a Warn Zeon 12 in my TJM T13. It's a BMF

I am pretty sure the ZEONs will fit my ARB bull bar, just need to be able to clock that beeeotch
heres Warns fitment guide - Warn Industries - ZEON Fit List
and winch size so you can measure your winch tray to see if this will fit - Warn Industries - Jeep, Truck & SUV Winches: ZEON 12 Platinum

you may know this already - ignore if you do - On Warns site, select the winch you want then towards the bottom is the specs on fitment on what not for the selected winch. I had to measure my tray first to make sure there was enough room to fit what I wanted. these are not cheap mods for sure but they should last forever.
