A quality sealed lead acid 27F. Plenty here (including me) are wishing that we didn't experiment with AGM. You can put a larger battery in there, but you're going the solar gen/lion route, so no need.Turned on car after battery died overnight (lights left on too long) and had check engine, 4 lo, center diff lock and check VSC lights come on (4 lo and diff lock flashing). Checked gas cap and checked button position to make sure it was in 4 hi, and drove for a bit (definitely can tell it was in 4hi) and all lights went away after 5 mins of driving.
So a battery being dead for too long can cause all that. She is starting right up now but I will plan on a battery within next month. As usual, I will be looking to fit the one with the highest capacity in the slot, while keeping it reasonably priced. What do you guys think is the best bang for my bucks for replacing the stock battery?

And one dead event isn't necessarily the end, three or four, yeah.
Put it forward, remove the rear bolts. Push it back, remove the front bolts. Put it all the way forward, all the way vertical, and all the way up. Remove the headrest before putting vertical.I’m going to dedicate this weekend to giving her a good cleaning. Any advice on removing front seats? Any major difference from 2nd row seats? Any cable I need to watch out for?
I normally wing it but since I plan on actually putting these seats back, then it’s probably good to go in with a plan.

Unplug the battery negative for 5 min.
Unplug the airbag and other two connectors.
Lift and clean the seat out the front door.
If you're just vacuuming, you can probably tilt it back and vacuum under . . . without pulling out.
It's a tight fit and will rub the steering wheel. I suggest you tape or wrap the steering wheel, otherwise it'll scuff the leather from pressure. Don't ask me how I know.
You can plug the battery back in after pulling the seat . . .but disconnect again for 5 min before putting it back in.
Yeah I did peek at that from the nice group sale going on, that i can no longer find! I think the extra poles I can get from ARB, maybe IronMan. Definitely have to do something to cut down on the packing/unpacking for trips when i plan on coming back to camp, especially in this heat!Ironman sells those awning brackets, if you haven't found them yet. Don't recall if it came with poles . . .
If you're taking on the adventure of living out of the LC while traveling. Looking at your camp site, and your dog I see chiggers, ticks, and fleas in your near future. Eventually they will be laying eggs inside your Toyota. Rocky mountain spotted fever and lymes disease are carried by ticks can be deadly. Fleas and chiggers are just annoying. Permethrin is probably the best to prevent this. It is a broad based insect repellant and it kills them as well. Concentrate can be bought at tractor supply: Gordon's Permethrin 10 Livestock and Premise Spray, 32 oz. at Tractor Supply Co. It will not smell after it is dry. I have sprayed carpet with no stains or damage, but you should do a spot test before spraying on your interior/upholstery. There will be mixing instructions to include low concentration mixes for spraying on animals. The military sprays permethrin on uniforms. It is relatively safe, but not tested for/recomended for spraying on peoples skin. After treating the car with a higher concentration(by the instructions) keep a trigger bottle with a lower concentration to spray the grass at your campsite. You'll be able to wear shorts and sandles without being eaten alive by chiggers, mosquitos, gnats etc.. Spray it on the grass and weeds directly around your vehicle before you start setting up camp.
Sorry I was distracted and meant to reply to this, but I really appreciate the kind words brother. Thanks for the soul food!I may have said it before, but this is pretty cool what you're able to do. An adventure I wish I could've undertaken in my youth. Carry on .
One of the more entertaining threads I've seen here on MUD. Thanks for sharing it all.
I know we are LC people here, but man, a used RV would have allowed you to already be traveling the country, in much better comfort, with far less headaches and thinking, and probably for less money. You'd have space for everything out of the weather and locked up, water, a shower and toilet, and a bed for you and your dog.
If your goal really is to live in your vehicle and travel, which I understand and want to do someday.
I'll keep an eye out for you around the triangle.
I hear ya....that makes it a bit more clearer.
Graduate college?
I'd ditch the AHC when traveling the world.
Also, people have circumnavigated the world in VW bugs and Volvo 240s....so you do you.
Can't wait to see your rig around.
