I like those front runner racks. If given the choice I would prob. do that over the Baja rack I have - but since I had the Baja and Front runner didn't return emails I just modified the Baja to work for what I needed. it may have been cheaper to just buy the front runner though after materials time and thermoplastic coating...but in the end it turned out perfectly. the issue with the GX is that the mounts for the rack are way back on the roof to clear the sun roof. so the cage under my roof rack gets me the support in the front part of the rack. The other advantage of putting the cage under the rack was it keeps the height of the truck low. it sits at about 6"7" so I can get into most parking garages in Seattle when I don't have bikes or tents up there.

This weekend I put new EBC brakes on the front...rears will be as soon as I can find time. Had a bit of an issue with a stuck piston on one of the calipers so ran out of time.

The other project was to put the sway bar back on. when I got my suspension at Metaltech we left it off...

I wanted to try it on and off with the new suspension. the biggest difference is that it tightened up the feeling of the truck. I never really experienced a lot of body roll or any bad handling without it but with it, it stiffens up the whole thing at speed. My recommendation would be to leave it off if you are doing more crawling and off road but have it on if you spend more time on the road or at higher speed...

Good to see you on here, Mike. The truck looks great. I feel like I should trade in my LX470 and go with a GX just so we can all have matching trucks. But I don't think that will tow the 40!

Yes it will...same engine as your 100 :)

"lighter" is not always a good thing tho, especially when towing a trailer :)

How did you get that head unit in there? I thought the climate control was integrated to the stock HU.

Yes. I'm also curious what your total suspension cost was. This way we might get a ballpark including the labor as well.
Still choosing between a few full suspension options.
Also, could you please tell us how you would compare this setup compared to the original ride comfort?
In other words, did you lose that Lexus plush ride? How would you compare?
Thanks!

Bump!

I too am interested in the approximate cost of the suspension upgrade. (Springs, spring perches, shocks, UCA's, misc. parts + labor.)

front pumper

Nice job on the front pumper bar .Question did you do anything (beef up) to cross member under the radiator or is it just connected to 4 bolts in each side of the frame where old bumper where attached ? .i am building one and i like to make sure that havey hung of metal and winch does not fall apart .thanks

My IronMan is just on the factory bumper crossmember bolts (remove the corssmember).

It works great and has handled many hits.

Dan by any chance do you have any pictures or diagram of how that Ironman pumper attached to chassis .I know it is a long shot but it never hurts to ask:D

Those pictures of ironman pumper was very helpful Thanks Dan by the way I like those wheels .what brand are they and what size ?
thanks again

Mine are stock 2003 wheels :P ObsessMuch can tell ya what he got (he is my brother by the way)

Can you send me the link to where you got the vinyl on the dash or tell me where you got it? I REALLY like the look of it. Of course I probably won't do as good a job as you did, but it might be interesting.

Good thing you Mentioned he is your brother :)))

Oh, and rz470, there are actually THREE of us on here. I'm ObsessMuch and DanKunz's older sister. We're an IH8MUD kind of family.
