Just ordered a TRS Morimoto Stage III kit with the mini Gatling. Hope that was the way to go as far as shrouds go. Couldn't find a much more recommended shroud for the stock housing but I wish I would have called back on Friday to talk to the LC owner which I assume is 2000UZJ although the guy I talked to said he thought he had a 96 or so LC so sorry 2000UZJ if that isn't you. Didn't do enough research it seems

Yessir. That is me. Please PM me with any questions, I generally only work on Fridays, so of you have questions feel free to call.

Have you not read the thread? It's kind of what it's all about. TRS = The Retrofit Source. Morimoto is their brand and the H1 projectors are what myself and many others have used as a retrofit.

I'm not talking about the H1, I'm talking about the whole MINI STAGE III KIT, which wasn't mentioned until post #701.

I am wondering if anyone on here as tried the bolt on projectors and shrouds.

Also, 2000UZJ what other shrouds fit the 100's 98-05 stock headlight?

If you want to saw half the headlight apart than you can certainly try a full size projector. The Mini H1 is the only projector we offer that doesn't require massive cutting. The Mini Gatting Gun (and graphite) are the only shrouds that require minimal trimming of the bezel. The E55-R shrould will fit, but you will need a centric ring for the shroud and trimming the bezel on the headlight quite a bit, it's a 3" shroud on a 2.5" projector (looks fine). The E46R shrouds may fit but would look funny since they will hang down into the high beam section. All other shrouds I have no tried to fit.

Thanks, will do. Wish I would have seen the graphite, I might have went that route. Is there anything I can be doing in the mean time while they are on the way?

A little off topic and sorry if I missed it, but I've heard that there is a way to make the fogs stay on with the high beams. I do like the near field/wide output the fogs give from the ARB Sahara and would like to keep that when I kick the high beams on. I guess I should re-search since it has been a while since I looked

Exchange them with the graphites when they get to your place. Your just across the dotted line so your not to far. As for what you can do while they are on the way...Dremel, sanding wheel, cutting wheel, needle nose pliers, and patience.

I figured I would post my latest setup since I have received several PM's from members regarding it. I cannot attach photos in PM's so I will post them here. As many of you know I have a serious addiction to light, but I hate aftermarket lights or lights on bumpers. This has forced me to get very creative with the stock lighting locations and modify the headlights extensively.

My low beams are as follows:
Custom 3" FXR Projectors with OEM clean lens
55W Morimoto HID Ballasts mounted inside fenders
OEM Phillips 85122+ D2S HID Bulbs
Iris Shrouds

My high beams are simple, I used my old 55W DDM Kit from the first post in this thread (a true testament showing the durability of these ballasts). They are now in the factory high beam location. Results are pretty
I do have Bi-Xenon projectors as well, so this is technically 2 sets of high beams firing at once.

My latest addition is projector fog lights. I have never been satisfied with the ARB fog light output, nor the look of them. I retro'd a pair of Blazer fog lights into the ARB housings today. remove the fog light assembly, pull the sealed beam out, take the black backing and dremel out a hole just large enough for the Blazer to fit. Mount on your rig and turn the headlights on. Set rotation and epoxy with lights on and everything installed. It will set in 5 minutes. Done! I don't have any output photos but I did go for a spin and can say the light output is easily 3X's brighter than the halogen reflector. FYI, the OEM fog light wiring can power a set of 35W ballasts. No need for relay harness.

Fog lights:

35W Morimoto Ballasts
3K 880 Bulbs

Nice job! Kind of hard to tell from the pic but did you install the Blazers behind the stock foglight glass lens?

I removed the entire ARB sealed beam assembly. The only thing left is the plastic peice that the assembly bolts to. I plan on vacuum forming a shroud and reinstalling the ARB glass lens to protect the fog light a little better.

Nice work Nick!

Looking forward to some beam shots of the fogs.

How does this compare to the LS430?

LS430's are wider, FXR has more distance. All in all I'd say the FXR is a more refined projector. I couldn't live without a bi-xenon now. Once you move to a bi-xenon...you'll never go back

Nice writeup. I followed your writeup to do my own morimoto projector swap. I've been extremely happy but still need to figure out why my drivers side has flickering in the light output. I have a relay harness so I think I might need to remount the projector.

Any up-close pictures of the install process or end result?

Sonk- here you go. Cut hole and epoxy. The ARB lights are sitting in a bucket of gasoline waiting to be pulled apart so I can glue the glass lens back on. They are sealed beam, heat does not soften the glue, only gasoline. Takes 48-72 hours for separation. Fill the sealed beam with gas so it eats inside out as well.

Thanks. That is great inspiration for a DIY project.

10 minutes with a dremel, 30 minutes for the Loctite epoxy (can get actual name in AM), 15 minutes to wire everything and mount ballasts and you are set! I tried pulling the ARB sealed beams in few minutes ago and they have another night in the gasoline. I am trying to find a shroud that would fit inside to really set it off with looks.

ARB fog lights came apart after sitting in gasoline for 48 hours. Here sits the final result with the fog lights 100% completed. I happy with the outcome. First drive it tonight to see the output over ARB sealed beams.

Until my next project  which you LX guys WILL KILL FOR...
