So far so good in terms of codes, been about 100 miles now. I'm still smelling gas on cold startups but I also have cracked headers so I'm not sure how much that could be contributing. Gas tank pressurizing is normal, feels/acts like my 2020 Camry, but I've yet to make a long enough trip to where the fuel would start boiling. Will update if anything adverse comes up!

Well let me correct myself. I definitely need some new hose clamps first before I can call this project “complete”, especially for that 3/8 bent line I bought from Amazon.

Thanks for the update!

I am going to attempt the repair and my thought is 1) to cut the base off with an oscillating saw at low speed with a thin and small tooth blade. 2) Make an angle cut so that the upper section nests inside the lower when rejoining (a scarf joint). 3) Rejoin using plastic welding with same material. So for you all that have attempted this, does this sound like a reasonable approach? Also, has anyone noticed any fiber reinforcing in the cut edges of the plastic. It is marked on the bottom with >PA66< (I think), so would indicate it is Nylon 66 without fiber? I am interested for purpose of using the correct filler rod.

I had no codes prior to the mod.
Did you guys happen to have the P0446 code before trying this out?

No codes - spent a week in Colorado in high elevation - no issues. Gas smell largely went away, a little bit of hissing at the cap when refueling in lower elevations, nothing major. Fuel lines not shielded yet.
