Michelin LTX AT2 275/70/18 stock everything

I cut them on a lathe. The powdercoating should be done by the end of the week.
We're having a hell of time finding shorter screws in the same thread that only have 4-5mm of thread (to delete the ring) so decided to try this. Something different that hasn't been done before.

Sent mine off to ProFormance yesterday. Shipping was cheap enough, and the price for the work is very reasonable. Though I'm not a fan of the non-functional bling ring, my personal opinion is the Rock Warrior does not look right without it. On my white 09 I'm keeping the gunmetal finish and the polished ring.

Unfortunately the stock BFG's that came on the RW's had one with a sidewall cut, or I would just run them for now. Anyone have a 285/70 17E in the front range in good shape (or two)?

It's not entirely non-functional. It's just not a bead-lock.
It's function is to protect the valve stem.

Glad the guys at ProFormance helped you out. Are they PCing black or polishing them?

That's going to look awesome

Can you please post a few more pics of the TRDs on your white LC.
I'm helping s friend with some new TRDs and I'm giving him colors options.
I really like that look above.

Sure thing, as soon as I get them mounted (still need tires!). arich, do you think the KO2 is to much for a DD? I really want to try the Cooper A/TW, but can't find any in the 285/70 17.

My favorite tire is/was the MS2 by Michelin but they don't come with a mancard.
The KO2 is a really good everyday tire but on those LOoooong trips the buzz does get to me. Solution turn up the Zepplin.
The snow performance is incredible. I drove home 3 hours in unplowed conditions in 6-10 inches of fresh powder and I was never afraid. Can't say that about the MS2s
I've convinced a lot of buddies to go with the KO2s and they all love them.
Brian Jowett tried the ATWs. Give him a shout for opinions.

I'm really very surprised to hear that your KO2s are noisy. I can't hear a thing from mine. I mean REALLY quiet.

I run at 40psi on the highway. What psi are you running?

39 lbs.
I went from MS2s to KO2s. The MS2s are were so quiet.
Just but Michelin LTX Premier and the wifies GL. Silent.
Michelin PSSs on the BMW silent.
KO2s not silent but still love them, I'm on my second set already!

I'm at 40psi KO2 and the hummmmm isn't bothersome at all, the wife hasn't even made a comment about them except how much nicer they look. It is a bit louder then the stock Michelins but look 1000 times better. And as rich said, music turned up a tad and I hear nothing.

Sinister arich=Anthony Rich
Let do a beach meet one of these days. Any stripers on the south shore?

The KO2s are much quieter Since correcting the front end geometry with SPC UCAs and getting a good alignment.

Huh. I remember being surprised to hear your report of noise, since my KO2's are practically silent. I would have expected alignment to have that much effect on noise. Good to know.

Santa arrived early :-)

The elusive Cooper Discoverer A/TW 285/70R17. Now I need my RW's to be ready!

Brian Jowett spoke highly of these. Let us know how they are

Did I miss something? Is this thread not a sticky anymore? And BTW, the KO2s are so much quieter than the Nitto G2s, and ride a whole lot better. Just sayin'.

I'm hoping they live up to the hype when it comes to winter performance, we shall see. They have to be better than the Nitto Terra Grappler's that are on now, they are inadequate in the snow and ice. Denver received 8" to 10+" inches of snow this week, and the temps have stayed well below freezing. This has made for very slick conditions and the Nitto's are not up to the task. I might be unfairly harsh on them, as maybe only a dedicated winter tire would perform well. The reviews say that the A/TW perform almost up to a dedicated winter tires traction, but with the ability of all season use. We spend a lot of time in the mountains over the winter, if the A/TW is not up to it, then a dedicated set of winter tires will go on the OEM rims, and the ever so popular KO2's on the TRD's.

BTW, in every other way the Nitto's have been great, but I'll be selling them cheap ASAP.

How did the ko2 compare to OEM in ride comfort and noise on road?
