200-series Pinnacle of "Land Cruiser" in the States?

I am similar height and think it may be a "domestic" OEM full size truck vs Toyota thing. My fOrD f150 seats were amazing comparatively. Unfortunately, they remain attached to the fOrd. I do marvel at my lack of headroom in the LC comparatively too. Maybe my seat is too high...

Agreed. Ram has been nothing but a recall after recall headache since day one, but DAYUMMM the seats are so far superior to anything Yota

And yes on the headroom as well. At some point, I will switch over to the Scheelman for sure. Just low on priority list for now

I’m 6’4” 300lbs

I’ve owned every NA model LC made other than a 55

Second to the 80, the 200 has the worst seats out of all of them.

Any long distances over 100 miles or so and I get achy butt and need to shift around

For comparison, I have a 2020 Ram, one trim level above poverty and have driven that at 12 hour stints with no issues at all and they’re uber comfy
You should have sat in the FJ40 or FJ60's (personal experience) they were very uncomfortable...but customers had way different expectations about their cars in those days. Buyers of Land Cruisers weren't expecting the "BarcaLounger" unless they were buying a Cadillac.

I put late 90s Supra seats in both my FJ40 and my 60s

My gripe I guess is the 200 is supposed to be the top line luxury model, yet its seats are subpar

Maybe you should try that in your 200 or buy a Lexus?

Once I’m done with a few more big maintenance things, the seats will be addressed for sure

Enjoy your 200 series and let it go. It’s a good thing if 250 series owners get that same feeling you do in your rig.

Everyone is looking at the next generation the wrong way.

They dropped the v8 and the tailgate but:
  • The taco, 4Runner, 250 LC, GX, tundra and Sequoia all got rear lockers
  • The taco and 250 LC got disconnecting sway bars
  • The GX got e-KDSS
  • We got a triple locked LX, last one was the LX450
  • The lx got bigger badder better AHC
  • All platforms are basically plug and play for 35s
I don’t have the same rose colored glasses for the 3UR. Mine has had literally every single 3UR issue and I still look back at it every time I get out.

I love y’all but these threads are crazy.
Have you seen how thin the new Land Cruiser’s axle and frame metal is? It’s paper thin now. Good luck repairing that if you ever bend it.

It’s one thing to add features, but if the engine can grenade at any moment, I’m not so sure that’s a great trade off.

People used to say, you take a Land Rover to get there, but you take a Land Cruiser to get back. You can’t say that with this new generation line of products.

Show us on the doll where the 250 hurt you

For me it’s not so much the vehicle (yes, the it’s cheap, tinny, sounds like a lawnmower and looks and feels like a rental car inside) but it’s the owners, as Doug states in the video. They get so emotionally damaged and out of sorts when someone calls their truck a Prado. I’m sorry, but you bought a Prado and that’s ok if this is the vehicle that suits your needs. Just put an OEM badge on it and own it.

Please go join the 250 crowd if you’re gonna make a comment like that. Blackford Oakes hit the nail on the head with that video, and that’s exactly how a large portion of the 250 owners act.

Lol did I hear that right that he said the V35A is the greatest V6 Toyota ever made?

@rexington14 go here and tell me how many grenaded V35As you find and then go here and tell me how many Prado trannies shat the bed.

I could go to the tundra forum and find hundreds of V35A failures or I could go directly to Toyota's recall filing where they've officially stated there have been thousands of failures. LX is low volume, just like LS where these motors blew up 7+ years ago but no one knew about it because no one bought them.

Regardless, it's a wild comment to make that the V35A is Toyota's greatest V6 ever made.

I don’t give a s*** about a made-in-Texas Toyota pick em up truck.

Try again bruthurr.

Talk to me about blown Prado trannies.

Actually, no… I’ll respond to this.

Go here and tell me how many blown V35As you find and then go over here and tell me how many you find.
