Convinced my cousin to join the dark side instead of getting a G wagon! He will soon be a mud member too

Just downloaded 357 images off my memory card, so it will take a while to sort through. Here are a couple of my favs from Cruise Moab so far:

Great pics! Really love the bumper. What are you doing about the front license place since you have a winch? Another spot/option?

Thanks! I have a bracket that flips up to allow access to the winch, but I didn’t install it yet. Greg already put his on, so it will look just like his.

Awesome!

Another shot from the “golden 10 minutes” of light that krept under very dark storm clouds to the East...

That’s my shadow to the right:

Nice! I had a CRF250X for years I converted to street legal use and did some custom valving on the suspension, and it was an awesome trail bike.

Those are great bikes, the X and RX are fantastic woods bikes. Do you still ride?

This new CRF 450L has really surprised me. I was dead set on a Husqvarna FE 501 until I gave the Honda a spin and I was sold. It's so much better on road (oddly enough I spend very little time on the road), no vibes or noises, I wanted a bike that wasn't orange for a change, and I've wanted to have a Honda in the garage again for a long time now. Waiting on the Vortex ECU to arrive so that I can get her back out on the trails.

There are so many good choices on the market right now, and the new Husky cafe bike looks awesome. I've had as many as 5 bikes in my garage at one time, but I hit a point about a year ago where I really lost passion for the sport. I had been riding for 22 years and just found myself not enjoying it any more, so I decided to focus on wheeling and camping more since I can enjoy that more easily with the family and dog. I still kept all my dirt, enduro, street and track gear though just in case :)

I need you to finish school and start working so you can join me in my misery

Sadly grad school is almost over lol. I shall be miserable again in short order lol.

I felt the same way at one point in time and I took a long hiatus from riding in general like yourself. But in the end I couldn't deny myself of what I truly loved and I found my way back to two wheels. I'll likely never do much riding on the road ever again, but I foresee many miles of dirt in my future.

Awesome! I have a YZ125 that i've been toying with putting on the hitch. If you know of a good hitch based holder, let me know!

I do, it's called a Rack-N-Roll or Rack-N-Ride here in the states, they are fairly new to the American market. They are an Australian based company and for me it was the best option. You retain your traditional channel/tray style carrier but you lose the straps and instead it holds the bike from the pegs and front wheel. It's fast and easy to load/unload, I get no movement or rattles, and I like that my wheels aren't hanging there in the open to be damaged. It comes with rear tail lights/signals and a plate light so that you can remain legal in states that might otherwise pull you over for covering those items up with your bike and carrier.

I was leaning heavily towards what most consider the best rack, the Ultimate MX Hauler which mounts to the pegs and the entire bike sits on the skid plate with the front and rear tires hanging freely. You pump it up into place with a bottle jack mounted to the carrier. It's a fantastic design that allows for good ground and break over clearance and doubles as a work stand, but the bottle jack is $hit and will fail in weeks, there are lots of bolts/washers/etc. to keep track of, and you have to pump it into place. It was a strong second place contender for me.
