Moving the family up to North Carolina this week, and wanted to make sure I could fit everything, or toss it.

Which is my PSA for the factory fuel tank shield. I bent this thing standing up, not even pressing it on the ground. Leaves a lot to be desired for tree branch or pointy rock punctures. Now I’ll be first to say that the resin fuel tank is an awesome ballon that can conform to the ground a bit and bounce back. But because of that, it is susceptible to punctures. Your terrain and personality will decide if it’s good or not.

Holy smokes!

Like an empty Coke can...!

Installed 315/70/17 All Terrain Cooper tires. Previous tires were 305/70/17 KM3 Mud terrains. I decided to install these since I had space to go bigger with no rubbing or loss of travel plus I needed AT's because of there much softer tread pattern and rubber. Mud terrains were not much use for me since I did not do any mudding.

First impressions: Loving these tires, they are much smoother. Much less noise and slightly less vibration. Although acceleration and steering are affected. Felt the steering become a little heavier and the acceleration feeling slower. Currently at 40 PSI have not taken them to the desert yet. Cant wait to drop them to 10 PSI.

Also decided to finally remove the rear 2.5 KING shocks and install 3.0 KINGs, with twin tube bypasses(rebound and compression) with race spec viton seals, pure race series piston and large finned reservoir. Have not touched the settings yet but they are much more controlled than before, likely due to the increased rebound damping and KINGs higher piston velocity target when valving these.

Total chaos rear links also installed.

Action pics soon.

Ledge!, oh no (Bottom out cringe), "Energy dissipated ", were ok. Never fails to bring a smile to my face!

The 315 tires were a huge improvement over the KM3 mud terrains, they are so much smoother feel cushy especilyl on 10 PSI. Loving the trade so far.

Out on the beach in the 4Runner earlier today and we ran across a few LX's launching their nicely outfitted off-shore fishing ski's. A very clean 100 series and a 200 series, I still love the looks of the 100 series.

Took her out to the desert to explore and test out the new icon suspension. 100% better than OEM.

Beautiful critter on your tailgate...

Thanks man! She’s the reason we got a land cruiser haha. She’ll be at lcdc and overland expo west.

If anyone is interested in the snorkel below I can put you in touch with the shop that makes them, they are very small production so price is high around $900.

I have been looking for a snorkel that is low profile and opens to the rear - just like the factory racing Land Cruisers. This is it!

Yes, please send me contact info for the vendor.

TIA

I picked up this 2015 in Texas on Wednesday and took the usual “8-State Shortcut” home to Seattle.
I stopped to wash it almost as many times as I fueled it, lol.

Just got her home. Here are a couple shots from the trip.
I did some wandering through the Navajo Nation, some creek crossing Canyon Country, and some generally easy loops through La Sal outside Moab. Rig performed flawlessly in dirt, sand, water, mud, snow, and even pavement!

The last shot was as I was deciding if I should run Soldier Summit in Utah at dusk or lay up for the night. I decided to run it. The weather came in quick, dumped three inches of snow and I had an enforced wait at a rest stop while the storm blew through.

I’m glad to be back in the LC Owner population.
