I've dreamed of a LC since I was a teen - finally pulled the trigger mid week last week. With the holidays I haven't been able to get on here. Black/Terra 18' New - Grateful to join the club!!! Any DFW guys in here?

Updates so far
All weather mats
Clear bra on hood, side mirrors and under door handles and on door edges

Tomorrow - Tires - TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T II (I'm not an extreme off roader so these will do - have had them before and like how quiet they are on my daily Dallas city driving) & Spacers in the front

Decisions still to make:
-Sliders / or some sort of other side step - I hate the factory one. but don't like it without, especially with small kids.
-New wheels or powder coating factory wheels
-Front Windshield tint to match back
-Seat covers for my ridiculously messy kids

That’s a version 2 Trail Tailor with bull bar...in white. Great bumper. Pretty sure Jason can’t sell more of that exact type (sold his design), but I’m pretty sure he’d whip up a similar one for ya.

Paging @TRAIL TAILOR ...

M,

That is the original @TonyP bumper that I put a bullbar on and was repowdered in Super White. The 200 front bumpers were never part of the sale of my designs and I can make the GEN 1 (V2) --- 2008- 2015 or GEN 2 (V1) --- 2016 to current as I deem fit.

The rears were the only thing for the 200 that sold and I can make the new design of them on Dec 16th. I hope to have the design finished so I can show it as well on that date.

They will also be available in 100% aluminum as well. Waiting on my machine guys to finish the latches, spindles and pop pins now.

+1

Seems like it is actually easier for my kids to get in with the Slee sliders vs. the OEM steps, possibly because they are wider? The 4yo can actually open the door, which came as a surprise.

Ah! Thanks for clarifying!
I wheeled with that bumper then & watched it smack down into a rock beneath a shallow pool beneath an obstacle. Thing was beast.

But anyway...
-Looks like you’ve got a new customer! :hillbilly:

Great lookin Cruiser!

I’m in the DFW area too...live in Highland Village and work in Las Colinas.

Makeshift mount aside...
Not sure that flag is helping folks see you anyway.. Looks like it’s only about a foot higher that your roof..? ;)

I thought about that and wanted to make sure I was in compliance before going out. The flag needs to be 8' from the surface of the ground. For reference, the whip I had was 7' tall. I agree though, it would be better if I worked up a roof mounting solution.

Hehe. Ya, I totally get it. :)

It’s one of those regulations you can pass...without it doing any good. But...it might save you a citation. :)

What are the odds of that in a random parking lot...? lol

Not to one up ya but... I was coming home one day and I see a red LC just like mine parked across the street (I was driving wifes camry at time). First thought was those F'in kids (not old enough to drive but old enough to pull some s***) Turns out it was brother in law of neighbor, visiting. A few months later was talking to a woman about her white 2016 LC, she says yeah, my husband has the 08 red one now! Crazy to meet two other red owners, given its relatively rare #'s. Don't see many 200's in central Maine either. My 08 has a tan pin stripe down the body, so maybe i'm a little special? haha.

:santa: <HO HO HO...

Actually much more twinkly than this little gif...

Daily Driver Update:

So the local KING dealer just got his shipment of 200 series shocks, and I couldn't help but to install a set on my daily driver LC200. Even though I do not drive aggressively at all with the daily driver, I decided to see this as an advantage for street use since now I can put "CADILAC" valving on the shocks which is my way of saying tune it to be very very smooth and use up all the travel in street use. Resulting in a very cushy ride during street use. Especially since local roads are filled with pot holes and some washboard on fire roads.

KING SHOCK SPEC:

1. Standard king spec valving

Compression:

Low Speed #1 0.15
Flutter stack 0.12
Low Speed #2 0.15
Mid Speed #3 0.15
Mid Speed #4 0.15
High Speed #5 0.15
High Speed #6 0.15

Rebound: Straight 0.12 stack.

Spring rate: 700lb(planning to drop it to 600lb or 550lb since 700lb is overkill and to much for my planned "cadliac" setup especially considering that this is not a 5.7 V8 model its a 4.6 V8).

Length: Custom length, 16 inch as opposed to the standard 14. (More travel)

Theroy behind this: High quailty shock and easily tunable piston and damping curves, lots of additional wheel travel. Means I can go extremely softer while still in control.

Planned valving (cadlic):

Compression:

Low Speed #1: 0.08
Flutter stack 0.15
Flutter stack 0.15
Low Speed #2:0.10
Mid Speed #3: 0.10
Mid Speed #4: 0.10
High speed #5: 0.10(2)
High speed #6: 0.10(2)

Rebound:

Low Speed #1: 0.10
Low Speed #2: 0.10
Mid Speed: #3: 0.12
Mid Speed: #4: 0.12
High Speed #5: 0.12
High Speed #6: 0.12

I also threw in unibazl camber upper control arms for additional wheel travel, it was in my storage room so why not slap it in.

Maltec 200 tearing up the dunes in Douze Tunisia... bad ass nothing else in our group could touch it. Running weight 6800lbs wet.

View attachment 1842614

At that weight...thinking you must have had an empty second fuel tank and almost nothing in the water tanks...?

80 gals of diesel, water and food for 2 weeks

Wow. So I guess that means youActually LOSE overall weight chopping out the stock rear body/seats even after adding interior doodads? Or close to it...? Pretty dang cool.
