The 24s have been installed, just no photos.....

And yes, this is the "big" tank of around 40 gallons. AU version is 45 but we had to notch the tank and the new net is something above 40 gallons.

Can you add a side profile shot (from the side) to highlight tank hang/droop? Hard to visually decipher without that. will consider a 24 if lower than expected. ;)

I went with the 24 mostly because I thought the 40 hung a little low for my taste especially with the high clearance rear bumper. Can't imagine needing more than that, and on that Alaska trip I will definitely take at some point, I could always fill up a few Jerry's. Really looking forward to getting it installed.

Has it been confirmed as a FULL 24 in use? Or less than 24 due to canister shaping etc?

I'd dig a bumper-level shot of your rear (the trucks, not yours) to see how it compares to 200 Series Aux Fuel Tank

Here are a couple. Notice the resonator, which has since been removed. Based on the info that the 24 will hang about where the spare tire would hang, it should ride just a little bit lower than the bumper, but tucked further towards the front. The 40 just felt like it would get smacked quite a bit, at least where I'm willing to drive. For a pure expo truck that isn't banging in the rocks, I'd most likely have opted for the 40.

looks like lots of clearance for the 24

It's happening! The awesome folks at @ACC Toyota are putting the 24g in. The shop isn't quite a museum of great cruisers, but damn close! May be why I go there for something at least once a year!

Can't wait to have the extended range!

Yes, I'm missing a RW center cap. Left it on the side of the street in Telluride when I changed out my trashed KO2... wasn't work the 3,500 mile round trip once I realized it.

*Just noticed this is the wrong thread... sorry for the double post. Meant to put it in the main LRA thread... still awesome though.

SUMMER STOCK SPECIAL
and

MILITARY DISCOUNT

UP TO $300 savings

We are no longer doing seasonal sales, but from time to time, will solicit customer orders to help us refine our production orders to Australia. We order in larger lots for container sea shipment. As a result, we need to know what we will need several months down the road.

To help in this, we may offer a small incentive so we can better plan our orders.

SO......check out the "Specials" page of our website for full details as here https://longrangeamerica.com/long-range-tanks-specials/

Thanks!

I understand the tank to come with light armor? What usage would additional armor be recommended?
We recommend that you have the installer add plate to the bottom of the tank before installation.

The tank is 2mm steel. LRA offers an upgraded 3mm bottom but our view is that if you really feel the need, a more robust option is the shop-applied sheet steel.

We have sold many large capacity aux tanks for 200, GX 470, 100, 80 and FJC and we have yet to see damage to the tank.

The tank tucks up well, but it's not armor plated. I see a lot of people not adding the plating.

The 2 methods I have seen are add a skid plate that bolts to the frame rails (the direction I am going);
The other option is prior to installation people weld some plates to the bottom of the tank and then paint it with bed liner.

@wardharris how much (inches) more does the 40 gal drop vs. the 24 gallon tank? And the weight difference between the two? Thank you!
Hangs down slightly further than the factory spare.
Not advisable for anybody who actually wheels aggressively, but for strict travel and overland it’s perfect.

Best single mod ever. Well, maybe after tires. But tires also create the need for more... gas!
