As you can see from the pic, extended length of the clamp is just over 6". This is the ONLY SIZE I am offering at this time. It can be shortened approximately 3/4 of an inch.

GOOD QUESTION! The ones on my FJ40 just barely clear the top. And I mean just barely. Over and over again I hear people say that they DON'T WANT the clamps any taller than absolutely necessary because the truck is already soooo tall with the rack on it. That is why I decided to make the clamps to these specifications.

But I would think that if clearance were a concern, you could simply put some flat washers or other spacers between the rack/crossbars and the clamps to increase height to your own specifications. I have seen that done very easily.I do not think there is any concern that the clamps would hold up to having spacers between them and the rack.
