Side-tracked maintaining the rest of the fleet.
Oil pan on Scion tc, 325,000 miles, had a rusted pinhole in pan. Just replaced transmission since 5th gear went out.

And a month after the pump the expansion tank cracked. Just finished that yesterday.

After the BMW was finished, I bit the bullet and changed the timing chain in the FJ Cruiser so the lights would go out on the dash. It was definitely 1/2 link longer. 217,000 miles on the original spark plugs. Replaced the Power Steering lines since were showing rust bubbles. Replaced everything, sprockets, chains, hoses, idler pulleys, belts, etc. Rebuilt power steering pump.

While it was in the garage and after camping one night in the back of the FJ, I added the inside door button to open the door, Found online by a guy that 3D prints them and sells them. I also added the lock and unlock switch in the door as well as it opens the window.

lol, the only part of the ones I got from you are the black trim strips around the bottoms of the doors. (hard to see in picture) Holding the canvas on and awaiting the door rubbers. I think that is going to be a challenge to feed the rubber around the perimeter of the door!
Spent the afternoon working on getting canvas attached and trim on the doors today. Toyota had to have a faster way to do this.

What codes did you have? Usually the 4.0Ls are pretty robust. Definitely due for some spark plugs!

I would have to look at the specific code, but Bank 1 timing. I wrote them down in my book in the garage.
Seems to be common in the earlier models, but it still ran great (but much smoother now that it is changed)
Yes, I would run this motor in anything! Much better than the V6 3.0 in the old 4 Runners.
It was not a hard fix, I spent more time putting new parts on so I don't need to open it back up again.

@YotaFun Codes were P0016 & P0101 - All have gone away with several hundred miles on it already.

Dad and I got the weatherstrip around one door, not sure how Toyota did this, but they are only on about door 3 at the factory if it took as long as it did us trying to push/pull it around the door. Even using 303 rubber protector it was challenging.
Trimmed off excess canvas, yes can see some glue that remained.
Have to slip rubber in along the top edge of the door, was leaving it sit before cutting to trim it and miter the edges where they meet.

Winch cleaned up, new bushings and seals. Ready for the new motor. Updating motor so it runs in and out, instead of just in.
