2.2 kw 2.0 kw and 1.4 kw starters (3 Viewers)

How many teeth does the pinion gear have?

So if your new starter looks like the middle starter in post #1 and has an exposed pinion gear with 10 teeth than it is more likely than not the 2.0kW starter no matter what any paperwork says. Notice in the Specs on Rock Auto for that starter it states 9 teeth, which is what the 2.2kW has, but what you got has 10 teeth. The description on Rock Autos web site appears to be mixed up.

Yep, that's what I figured and why I stated it was a 2.0 despite what rockauto advertised. Hopefully someone else doesn't have to get the wrong starter delivered.
