Okay, my turn for a stupid question - what is the difference between the 08-11 grille and the 13-15? I see different part numbers (53101-60481 versus 53101-60916). Are the dimensions different?

I'm asking because I just paid for one of these grilles, but I have a '13. It's a lot of money to pay if it doesn't fit...

I have a spare grill for my '13 if I can share dimensions to verify.
 
I'll start with I don't have radar or a front camera.... I have cars that do. On the Kia and Tesla, they are pretty intense and integrated systems. On the LC they are much simpler.

I think what Kelly is really saying is he is not going to assume any liability for the systems on your truck not functioning correctly. If it was me, I'd cut out a spot mount them up and go about my day. But I would then be assuming any liability for the results.

Kelly's not likely to do that.
 
Hard to say how much (if any) they changed dimensionally.

I had some side conversation and it may be that the difference in the generations of grilles is just that the newer ones have accommodation for the camera and radar. If anyone has a damaged '08-12 grille that I can test fit, I'd happily try. The grille comes out very quickly- 3 bolts and 3 plastic fasteners. I don't have the plastic panel on the top, so it is a quick operation. If not, when my metal grille arrives, I'll install it and report back. Odds are, it will fit fine.

On my 2013 I think there's at least 5 plastic clips. Two on each side plus at least another three on the bottom. Maybe five more on the bottom.

Same three screw count on the top.

And this is completely irrelevant... but did the third row headrest size change?

Yes, good point, there are also two brown plastic clips on the side, but mine are no longer there.

I believe they are the same dimensions, just different cosmetics. AFAIK the headlights are same sizes (swappable) , and I think the hood is the same. If so, top and sides match. Bottom looks the same to me too.
Of course, I have not made any actual measurements to validate my speculation. Just hoping this helps in case nobody that actually knows definitive chimes in.

To be clear, you have both designs (1 or 2 pieces) in stock or can make them per order? If so, what is the turn around time if ordered n paid on the same day?

I build them once each batch of orders reaches enough to fill at least one 4x10 sheet for laser cutting. So, it can take 2-3 months.

looks great, is that the 1-piece version? do you plan on powdercoating?
 
I got mine powder coated, installed it, and it looks terrific. Very strong and sturdy too.

That being said, I was never able to find a way to disable the millimeter wave radar sensor. No dice.

I'd recommend that people with the 2nd gen skip this mod.

PCS is disables with the millimeter wave sensor remaining installed (warning messages in the dash) and if you remove the sensor entirely, you get even more messages including check engine, 4lo flashing, 4 low and diff lock won't engage. It is a veritable christmas tree of flashing and solid lights.

Looks like this one is headed to the classifieds.
