your 105 was a FZJ105 or an HZJ105 .. ?

If was a HZJ the 1HZ for us ( General ) only have one temp sensor at the water inlet .. but the 1HD-T have 2 ..

G'day, my 1990 1hz 80 series has a temp sensor on the outlet and near the oil filter, the wires are snapped on the one in the outlet and I am wondering if it is detrimental that I hook it back up, it has ran and functioned fine without it for the past 4 years I've owned it

Cheers, connor

anyone knows by chance the thread size of the upper coolant sensor? (on the first picture)

The thread in the housing in the first picture is M16 x 1.5 . I know this is an old thread but I came across it looking for prior art on adding an after market sensor and pulled the sensor on my 1HDT to check it and order an adapter.

There seem to be mixed opinions on the purpose of that sensor. Dash gauge still works with it disconnected. I've left it disconnected while I see if I discover something that doesn't work now.

Hello all. Starting back up an oldey but hopefully helpful post. I have a 2000 1HZ 105. The heat does not work. The rig came from Oman and everything behind parts of the dash are super dusty/sandy. Can anyone share any tips how to find the sensor for cabin temp? The AC blows cold as a witch's tit... just no heat. Please advise. Thank you !

Um... have you checked if the heater core is actually connected? Every Middle East truck I've bought has had the heater core bypassed.

And I don't recommend just hooking it up and assuming it will be ok. Without fail in my experience they do not bother to empty the heater core when they do the bypass and that means that stagnant coolant will have been in there for maybe a quarter century. I'd recommend getting a new heater core and installing it before attempting to un-bypass the heater core.
