If you have a 1HZ powered 70 Series with this airbox (air inlet on the fender side of airbox) and want to add a Safari Snorkel you'll need an adapter to connect the airbox and snorkel inside of the somewhat narrow fender. Odd Iron Off Road makes this adapter. I believe most of the 1990/1991 77 & 73 Series will have this airbox.
We also make the under-hood lighting system that allowed you to see this engine in the dark.

OEM snorkels aren't really "snorkels" anyway. How much are the adapters?

$70.00 .... Shipping is running in the $12.00 range. (The shop doesn't mark up shipping)

All raised air intakes are still available from Toyota for 7x iterations including the plumbing.

That's if the truck came with a raised air intake from the factory.

Otherwise, mods need to happen to make it work up to and including the correct air filter housing.

It would be interesting to know if the airbox with the fender side inlet survived in the 70 Series beyond 1990/1991. Perhaps someone with a newer 73 or 77 Series will chime in.

Still looking for this answer if anyone has a 1992 or newer 73 or 77 Series. ..... Thanks

Same air cleaner in JDM 73 and 77 all the way up to 1999. Most European models of the same vintage as well
