I am selling a late model 1HZ engine. I bought this for a project, purchased some parts to go over the engine and then found a partially assembled FT engine that will get my attention instead, so this one is for sale. Previous owner said he paid a shop to rebuild the engine, but I have no indication that this was actually done. A lot of the parts look like they have been spray painted. A turbo return pipe has been welded to the oil pan by the previous owner.

This is a late model 1HZ with the hydraulic tensioner and a bolted timing cover (rather than bolts and clips on the earlier versions). The engine looks fairly clean and the block doesn't seem like it has been on a salt aggressive environment.

I have a video of it running if wanted. Started super easy and no smoke. Sounded really smooth.

If wanted, included is some sort of diesel automatic transmission that my best guess would be from a 13BT or a 12HT type. I don't think it is the correct one for the 1HZ application but I am not sure (the bellhousing does not seem to line up correctly). A split case is also included which is a vacuum activated spilt case (just like in a FJ62 one). Alternator, vacuum pump, and power steering pump are still attached to the engine.

Asking $5600 plus shipping from Columbus, OH.

Additionally, I bought parts to turbo this engine, and these parts can be sold separately or together with the engine. I bought the factory 1HDT exhaust manifold, the connecting rings, exhaust gaskets, crossover pipe, a new generic turbo, a used CT26 turbo, the oil supply/return fittings for the turbo. Asking $1700 for the turbo parts.

Finally, I bought a timing cover, a valve cover and other parts that I can also sell with the engine.

Thanks,

-Alberto

What’s the date codes on the block and main bearing cap?
No idea on the bearing caps as I didn’t pulll the oil pan.

We got it running to make sure it was a runner and didn’t have any weird noises. I was planning to do headgasket, big end bearings, timing belt, water pump, etc before using it but will spend the time and funds on the FT instead.

Date code, Alberto. They are stamped on the RH side of the block at #6 cylinder and behind the alternator mounting bracket on the front of the main bearing cap assembly at the front on the RH side.

All engines manufactured by Toyota Industries have their stampings in those locations.

Will have to look on these. I am not sure but will find out.

I am very interested in the engine. I just created account because I saw this engine for sale. The guy I am planning on doing engine swap is a member and said he thought it's a good deal. His name is mudandrock of Back 40 Imports. Still available?

Glad you joined and welcome to the group!

I have a couple of people trying to figure out logistics for the engine but no firm commitment yet. So as of now, it’s still available.

Date of production for the engine seems to be 2008.
