Just because I'm lazy and haven't phoned around yet... Does anyone know the scoop on getting these rebuilt locally? I remember someone telling me that because they are 2 stage they need a special crack tester? Somewhere in Nanaimo? Or Vancouver?

...special crack tester...

He he he. You said crack tester. :hillbilly:

Still having smoke issues man? Did the turbo rebuild at least reduce it considerably?

Ya the turbo rebuild stopped the blue smoke. But recently it's been coming back as white smoke, which I understand is injectors or pump but my pump's been done.

A kind lady rolled down her window at a stop light on Shelbourne today and informed me that my truck was on fire.........................................

Nope, that's just my smokey exhaust coming out a hole in my muffler! LOL

I am awaiting a reply from an Ebay seller in Australia on a set of rebuilt exchange injectors...

There's your problem.

In all seriousness though, let me know how this goes. By the way, are you interested in helping me with a turbo rebuild? Beer/cash your way...

I like beer but... how about a discount on me buying your rear bumper? :D How much is Cam willing to pay for the swing-out part?

Do you have the rebuild kit yet? I'd say at least 50% of the work is getting the turbo out of the truck. I took it out still connected to the exhaust manifold.

Cam decided he didn't want it... and I don't mind selling, but would need to buy a full replacement bumper for it (I like to drag my ass like a dog...) which is expensive.

Don't have the rebuild kit yet. Did you have a link for the one you used?

Vancouver is the only place, can't remember the place. Cost is 1000 ruffly. I would do it this way cause of warranty. little hard through ebay for that kinda stuff, not to mention the right ones.

Thats good to hear someone in town can service these pumps and injectors. I would love to get my pump re-sealed and my injectors tested. This new ULSD is really doing a number on all the o-rings, starting to see weeping around throttle shaft :(

Yeah Lloyd says the diesel here is hell on our pumps. He sells a product called Stanadyne that he swears by. He's also not a fan of Howes for some reason. Mine is leaking out of the throttle shaft too. Not a ton but if I leave it idling it is fairly regular drip that comes down and puddles under the truck.

You have to get the pump off your truck first though. He won't do that part. Something about having to be able to time if properly when it goes back on? Barvarian Imports told me they could do it. Remove and re-install was around $300 quoted. On top of Lloyd's price. He is also able to take that ACSD off and install a plate.

Do 1HZ's have the 2 stage injectors?

Jay Thomas rebuilt my "B" injectors when he was at Radd and did a great job. Less smoke, easier starts and more power.

Chris and I pulled the pump on his 1HZ and upgraded the seals, blocked off the (thing that should be blocked off) and reinstalled it with little difficulty. One bananna job.

The HZ has one stage injectors.

Lloyd at Action does not do the two stage 1HDT injectors, but Fred Holmes in Vancouver does.

Stanadyne is okay, but Opti-Lube is much better.... and we now carry it.

White smoke is probably timing.
