I have a new oil pump/timing cover. I didnt send it to the machine shop with the block and now wondering if i should have. I wasn't able to find any info. I mocked it up on the block before machine work and the top of the timing cover sat below the block.

I am rebuilding my 1fzfe motor after a 2nd head gasket has gone out. The first HG lasted 133k, the second 80k. I machined the head when i replaced the HG the first time but never checked the block which the machinist took off 6 thousandths. I found the block was off by 4-5 thousandths before sending it to the shop. I used the original head bolts previously, Ill be installing ARP for the mains and headbolts.

Ill likely post some photos of my progress here. Waiting on parts still as COVID19 has slowed progress on shipping.

Pistion and rings are DNJ with standard rings.
Reusing Toyota rods.
Mains and rod bearings are standard also from DNJ.
ARP head and main studs.
Cometic MLS head gasket.
Toyota valve grind kit for all the other miscellaneous gaskets, seals. (factory Toyota headgasket available to a mud member in need)
Universal catch can for PCV, my intake was caked with oil.

^ what scott said.
If they're not spot on you'll be exerting force on the head when you bolt it down in a way you don't want to.
Think bolting both sides of a teeter totter down but much much smaller.

Making progress. Waiting on my headgasket and drive plate bolts. Drive plate bolts didn’t come off too easy. Had to cut three off. Milwaukee impact has been nice for the front pulley on and off.
