OOOps, small mistake on my part, I meant to ask which turbo is recommended by the manifold manufacturer, I am wondering if there is a turbo application that would not require the re-working of the engine mount, and would that turbo present the same or different benefits from the one you have selected.

The turbo used by Turboglide in Australia is a custom Garrett GT35 and as far as I now does not need the engine mount modified. Exactly 'what' is custom is unclear....

Slee offer a similar project build but they have their own manifold - look at previous posts in this thread for a pic. Really nice looking job too.

I'm trying to engineer a low boost application that comes on song at the lowest rev range I can get - I'm not interested in what happens at hgh revs - this truck very very rarely sees anything north of 4,000 rpm. Any motorway driving is typically at 65mph, @2,200rpm.

Of course, the argument against what I am trying to do is that I should be supercharging instead. I just fancy working this out, that's all.

if the manifold flange is such that the studs from the block are too close to the runners to use the wide base nuts you can use a smaller diameter nut. the nuts for the cat are the same as the nuts for the manifold flange except for the fact they have a smaller diameter. with the turbonetics manifold i used over half the standard size manifold nuts were too wide at the base and hit the runners.

Well spotted Dusty!

If its a problem I'll use some of the smaller flange diameter nuts.

Just waiting for the manifold to come back - can't push it as a mate is doing for a few beers!
