Hi, not sure if I bring up an old topic, but I have no luck in finding a way to fix this problem.
I bought this head unit from crutchfield:
Kenwood Excelon DDX6905S
And it comes with a wiring harness like this:
Metra 70-8112 Receiver Wiring Harness
I installed it last weekend and got some "buzzing" noise. I called them and send me tow filters :
Axxess AX-ANR1000
PAC SNI-1
I've not tried them yet because I noticed there are some threads mentioned about "bypassing the factory amp". I'm totally noob when coming to "audio" or "wiring" stuff. I just want to solve the problem with the easiest way and less money:rolleyes:. Please help and if bypassing the amp is my only shot, just let me know. Thanks, guys.

Search factory amp removal. It needs to come out on most stereo installs. At least on 80 series. Forgot i was on 100 forum.

I also tried filters before just bypassing the amp. You need the Metra amp bypass harness, which comes with long wires to run under the passenger seat to make the connections there for the speakers when the amp comes out. Sounds great now, and I don’t miss the sub. My only issue was that the wire colors seem to change a bit with each model year, so I had to combine a few different how-tos to get it right.

Is that a common / generic harness? I've had the buzz noise for long time as well.

Thanks for the reply. So how does the filter working for you at first? I don't really care about the audio quality. As long as the noise is reduced, I can definitely live with it.

The sound was basically unchanged with the filter...too much power from the new head unit. Lots of hiss, even at low volume. Amp bypass took about two hours total, but well worth the time.
