I currently have no heat in my LX. Ice cold air con but if I change the temperature it remains freezing. Any ideas?

Can you also elaborate on the vinegar fix please?

Any number of issues could cause this. If both front and rear not working, issue may not be a clog. The one of most concern is low coolant level. Make sure it's not low and your coolant temp is above ~184F.

What brand did you use that leaked?
I'm at 220,000 miles so oem parts are getting a bit ritzy for me.

I don't recall the specific brand, but it was something i got off rockauto. I can go dig through my records to pull it up, but it was something like $60 for rockauto vs $350 OEM. Absolutely worth every penny for OEM! The aftermarket unit leaked right where the pipes connect to the core.

Now that you've R&R twice. Do you see anyway possible to sneak the core out, without pull the dash out?

Not a chance. As they say, the truck is truly built around this heater core. It was unbelievable how far down you had to go.

It is one of the main reason I pound the table and get on my soap box "Flush the coolant system on time". I use Toyota coolant, and never ever put even one drop of tap-water in the system, not even to flush. Only distilled water!

Amen! I would have flushed the system every month to have avoided this. lol.

Also just for clarity, this is what qued me in to the leak. Driving home on a snowy day and couldn't get the windshield to defrost, and then I noticed this on the passenger side footwell. This had created a pretty decent puddle of coolant (win for the weathertechs!)

Out of curiosity I wanted to see if I could inspect my heater core so I found a way to thread a bluetooth inspection camera in to look at it and thought I would share it if anyone ever wants to look at their heater core as it is obviously tough to get at. I went in through the drivers foot well with heat on and blowing through to the feet. I had to insert it and sort of rotate it up to the left.

When the trucks are designed, they hang a heater core from the ceiling by a string. Then rest of the truck is designed and later built around it the heater core.

How are you guys getting the white heat matrix out of the car without touching the AC on the passenger side?
