Hi Everyone, new here. I found and joined ih8mud because of this thread. So much great information shared.

My Vehicle: 1996 LX450 (no issues)
My Alarm: RS3000, 08190-00921, BAB237000-129, 237000-1291 (working)
My Fob: Original Lexus BAB237131-032 (working)

Because of the success had by the two other contributors in this thread, I have ordered this one and will report back:

This other one did not work for me despite the listing saying it's for LX450. (looks like the one that did not work for another LX450 owner in this thread)

I've attached a pic of my module, and a screenshot of the one that did not work for me. Hopefully the KeylessKing with the FCC ID discrepancy works for me too.

Cheers!

After spending that much you could have bought one from Toyota. 60 bucks for PT398-07100 worked on my 96 LX450 and 95 Land Cruiser

I sent back the fobs that didn't work for a refund. Plus I need 3 working new ones, and my original is on it's last legs.

Sharing since I had a loose screw event… with pieces conveniently bouncing underneath the vehicle 🙄

After some trial and error the M2x5 (and M2x6) countersunk flathead Phillips screw will fit the LX450 OEM remote fob (kind of squared off oval shape with two buttons and red led at one corner). I just bought box of assorted metric screws and searched until I found the right one that fit…

And the battery is a CR2025.

BUT, I did end up ordering a leather fob cover with key chain because the OTHER potential failure point on the OEM fob (after nearly thirty years of use) is the plastic post that the key chain loops over. Fob cover came with some foam stuffing to help it hold shape in packaging so I trimmed that down to make a nest that keeps the fob centered in the cover.

I had a journey trying to get my 97 LC to work. I believe mine is a Gulf States and had the Audiovox system mounted to the kick panel on DS. I gave up and went with a Viper system that has remote lock and remote start. It was $400 installed, but some much more reliable and predictable. Great to hear others are getting the OEMish ones working all these years.

To add to the thread, As a reference for PT398-07100 I can confirm it also works for my 1996 lx450 with original rs3000 system.

Programmed it by turning key to on, then pressing green button as mentioned by previous poster, for 3 seconds, then pressuring button to program on the remote. After closing the door and trying new oem remote, it works well.

Agreed wish it was the Lexus logo. Will do some thinking on how to adjust it. Maybe cnc flat and laser etch?.

Most important is the distance the new PT398-07100 fob works at is amazing, it’s about 45-55’ from the vehicle! see image of distance and parts below:

Toyota Dealer has the fob, PT398-07100
Key4.com has the oem key: Lexus Master Blank Non Remote Key 90999-00220 - https://www.key4.com/lexus-oem-master-blank-key-9099900220

Time to cut the new key :)
Cheers :)

Wow!
My "new" one has better range than the original. But, yours is amazing!
Almost too good
