Not a whole lot to update on the build. I took on a few projects at the office after I said I was going to take it easy this year. They have been distracting me.

But I learned that @wardharris and @orangefj45 are now US dealers for Kaymar. I had been debating my rear bumper setup and really wanted to do something a little different. So now I’m the proud owner of a new dual swingout bumper and should take delivery by end of the year.

Hoping to have the new suspension installed in the next week or so. In the meantime, I've been ordering some parts for the diesel swap.

The 1HDFT diesel is going to need to breath some air so I wanted to find a high-end snorkel setup. Finally came across Moonlight Fabrication in Australia (Stainless Snorkel | Australia | Moonlight Custom Fabrication & Welding) and they have a killer 4" snorkel setup with a stainless steel airbox designed for the 1HDFT. I placed the order last night for the front facing snorkel and matching airbox and both should be en route to Florida the first week of December.

My next task was finding a suitable intercooler setup. I debate front v top mount intercoolers with a couple of different guys with similar conversions. Most pointed me in the direction of a front mount setup and eventually to another Australian company called Performance Diesel Intercoolers or PDI. PDI has a specific setup for the 1HDFT 80 series with automatic transmission (Landcruiser 80 Series Front Mount intercooler). For automatic vehicles, PDI builds in a transmission cooler. A few calls later and the purchase was made. Looking forward to seeing the intercooler setup in the shop in early December.

Man, I'm jealous. Post up detailed pictures of that intercooler install. I'm hoping to get mine next spring or summer.

I was expecting the PDI intercooler to arrive today but it appears there is a delay with Fedex.

But I did receive a call that some parts I had ordered were now at the shipping terminal, including the 1HD-FT. Definitely like the look of 24-valve, turbo, mechanical goodness. This engine has an upgraded turbo from Winks 4x4 in the Netherlands (www.wink4x4com). Will get started soon on cleaning, sealing and painting it up so it will look better.

Even though not much work has started on the truck, I do get a lot of joy out of receiving parts. I came home today to see the PDI intercooler next to the front door! And, happy to hear from @wardharris that my Wholesale Automatics transmission is officially in the United States.

Special thanks to @beno for helping me rid the truck of woodgrain - after I spent all that time replacing the faded original batch. I kept finding myself being extremely jealous of the non-woodgrain look. My trim did not look so great after all those years of being beneath adhesive. Onur has been awesome with sourcing parts and otherwise listening to my crazy ideas. We are still waiting on a few items but this is a good start.

Alright! Now show us whats inside the box!

@Lumpskie here you go. There are a lot of pipes, hoses, clamps as well. The unit itself seems to be extremely well made. The packaging left a little to be desired but nothing appears to be damaged.

This is going to be stuffed inside the grill with very little room - confirmed with some measurements. Oh, and I got a sticker AND a hat!

Man, I'm interested to see how it fits. I've got some winch stuff that needs to fit in there too. Blaze the trail for me!

That is pretty all I have to report for now. We are still ordering parts and measuring for various modifications. The truck had a little “noise” above 35 mph with the new lift so I ordered a DC front drive shaft hoping that will quiet things down. Once the conversion is done, the truck will be part time 4wd anyways but I would just get the driveshaft now and fix the issue.

I’ve also been slowly collecting parts to de-woodgrain the dash. I replaced all of the woodgrain but would rather just go back to the factory black. @beno has been helping me with all the available OEM parts. Still need the lower dash assembly around the locker and ignition switches. Missed a nice one on eBay while I was gone.
