Here area some pics. Didn't bother to clean up the frame that much.

Wow, the engine's in already.

So.. if I ever end up in Colorado.. down for a little Chevota drag race? :D

Sure. Sounds good. Yep engines in, but thats it. Now i need to work on the trans mount. I'm ordering a TBI harness kit from eBay. $245 includes shipping. Great deal and great harness. I think I'll be putting in an order for block huggers too, unless I find a good deal on rams horns. The stock manifolds don't look like they'll fit.

Well I decided to put a 1" body lift on. Went to play it again and got hockey pucks. worked perfect! I needed the clearance for the 62 t-case. the actuator for the 4 high needed to sit over the frame rail and their wasn't enough room. the 1" and some mild hammering on the floor board gave me the clearance i need. I also built the shifter linkage for the t-case. waiting on a 91 shifter so i have 1,2,3,D,N,R,P for the 700R4. pics coming. I also decided to go with rams horns. found some local for $50 for the pair!!!

T-case actuator over frame and body lift.

Hockey pucks $20
Hardware $8

Yep 1" body lift for under $30.

Yes they are. They are a nice hard rubber. People have used them for years for bump stops for suspension. Work great for body lifts too.

Rockrod. Looked through your thread. Great job. I'd like to know more of how you got your instrument gauges to work and the shifter cable. If you are in Parker we are only about 45 minutes away.

Making some progress. Does anyone know the PSI on the stock fuel pump? Will it work with the TBI?

I haven't found a definitive answer on this. I'm putting the same engine and tranny in my 92, plan on putting new spring in my throttle body and trying it.

Acceptable fuel pressure for a 3F-E is 37-46 PSI. The pump itself probably sends out more, but that's what the Toyota regulator sets the feed line to. Because the 3FE runs at higher pressure than the TBI, you might need to resize the feed line and change the pump to a more appropriate one.

the stock pump is more than enough for the TBI. You should be able to use it without issue, but you may need a secondary regulator in line to step the pressure down so that it doesn't overwhelm the TBI regulator. The TBI is extremely dependent on fuel volume but runs at a relatively low pressure (around 15 psi IIRC). Do not install any sort of Walbro or Airtex pump. They are terrible and noisy. Denso is the only way to go.

For gauges, everything works for me. I was able to adapt the stock toyota water temp sensor into the cylinder hear and for oil pressure, same thing. It's just a matter of finding the correct port to tap into. Somewhere in my build thread I documented how I handled it. I can't imagine the gen1 motor is that much different. Oil pressure is right behind the distributor and water temp can be pulled from a cylinder head plug.

the tach is a bit more challenging and will require a dakota digital adapter to convert the v8 signal to a 6 cyl signal. the wire to connect to is one of the black ones that ties to the stock toyota ignition coil.

Looks like you went with the ram horn manifolds? Hows the fit?

Rams horns will work well. I still need to run the exhaust. Found the pair for $50. So it was a good deal couldn't pass it up.

Did you get 2" or 2.5" outlet on manifolds?
