Was it only the 93-94 US spec 80 series trucks that had the all metal radiators??

i know 1994 had full metal. i believe it is the part number/year CDan sells.

Better get some shipping insurance... They get damaged in shipment pretty frequently. I usually recommend people to get the Koyo. (I know, talking my way out of a sale)

OEM radiators for the LC are manufactured by TRad which used to be "Toyota Radiator"

They are different than Koyo. TRad is the internal Toyota radiator company.

That's about right.

I just put one of these in my 97. Couldn't be happier with it. Although I have purchased many items through Sam or CDan/Beno, I must admit I bought this one at the local Toyota dealership after "requesting" a 25% discount off list (they gave it to me).

FWIW, I scored $30 from the scrap yard when I brought in my old copper radiator.

your saying when the radiator is shipped from Lowe they are frequently damaged?
You are recommending Koyo over OEM? Do you think the Koyo is a better radiator as a replacement for a 1997?

Just my experience: When I ship them (on UPS for example) they get damaged fairly often. That's the main reason I recommend people to get a Koyo. We have installed countless aftermarket radiators here over the years (including Koyos) and never had an issue. Many of the Toyota radiators are cost prohibitive to our service customers. Some of them are $600-$800. I have heard reports from many people in the MUD community that have Koyo radiators and are very happy with them.

That being said, the factory stuff is always going to be the best, and it's always going to be the most expensive. If you're looking at a cost standpoint, then I would go with the Koyo. If cost is not an issue, or you're dead set on an OE, get an OE. I still ship and sell them, I just add a little extra packaging and a little extra shipping insurance.

Good for them. I'm glad some of the local places are stepping up to the plate.
