Hey guys, new the LC scene. Picked up a 94 JDM RHD LC recently. Overall it’s in great shape with only 227,000 kilo (141k miles). My alignment is off a decent bit and I had the front wheel bearings checked. They are good to go and were resealed with grease and everything was tightened up. Mechanic said the steering gear box is loose and he is not able to find a replacement unit. Anybody know the part number for a 94 RHD steering gear box so I can order one? Thanks in advance!

Put your vin number In partsouq and search it will give you the correct part number.

Thanks! It’s saying part# 44110-60220 any idea if 44110-60200 will work? I believe both are RHD parts. I’ve had no luck finding 60220 anywhere. I believe it has been discontinued.

If you can’t find a new one you can always have yours rebuilt

Loose? In what way?

Doesn’t the jdm rh box have some kind of power assist on it? Thought that box no longer exist

I went ahead and purchased this one. Looks identical and is RHD. May work and may not but I can always return it and keep the OEM one.

Correct, there are two types of JDM steering box. One has a solenoid/power assist that tightens up the steering at higher speeds. It uses a shorter steering shaft.

The other is a standard steering box that you can still buy new, or at least buy a 105 box. They use a longer (standard) steering shaft, aka the same one that US models use.

@HHR137 you can have Redhead rebuild it:

Or you can rebuild it yourself and upgrade to a 105 sector shaft while you're at it:

if your going to buy brand new box might as well get a 105 box i think they're about the same price.

Do you happen to know the part # for a RHD 105 box?

If I go with the 105 series, will it be plug and play aside from needing a new pitman arm?

So I pulled the tire off this morning and got a decent look at it. It does look like the one in the picture you posted. Will the newer boxes for the 105 have the place to mount the solenoid assist?

The 80 series steering gearbox, regardless of RHD/LHD, automatically supersedes in part number to the 105 steering gear box. People just need to make sure they get the corresponding pitman arm for the new box.
