I am selling my 1994 Land Cruiser that has a Military J Code 6.2 Diesel swapped in by a previous owner. He documented his project here, 94 FZJ80 6.2 conversion begins!, and the second owner then put the Bank Turbo on it.

I have had it for a few years now and love owning it, but need to upgrade to a larger 1 ton tow vehicle for work.
170k on the odometer. Not sure whats on the engine, but last compression test was great and the engine is still strong.
Transmission is a 700r4 rebuilt when the engine swap was done

Truck came with a one inch body list and OME heavy duty suspension. Sits a couple inches higher than stock.
It has an Aux fuel tank giving the truck 65 gallons of diesel and a range over 1000 miles.
Raptor Fuel pump that I replaced in 2015

Replaced
Glow plug/block heater with quick heat versions 2015
Replaced starter with a powermaster in 2015
JVC Headunit and new speakers in all

Last summer I replaced
Alternator
Water pump w/ high output one from Peninsular Diesel
Replaced fans with dual electric 14in Flex-a-lite fans.
Radiator

I've had this truck on long distance road trips and it does great cruising. 20MPG or more when not towing, and pulls a moderate load without hesitation. Driven from Detroit to Savannah on a tank of gas with miles to spare.

Truck is missing the clear on some spots and there are scratches along the sides. Few small dents here and there and the right rear break light has a crack in it.

Located in Savannah, GA and willing to help drive it somewhere within a reasonable distance. Any questions just ask please.

I also changed out the stock Banks Turbo exhaust for a custom 3in pipe and a couple glass packs. Looks much better and sounds awesome without being obnoxious. The truck has a relatively quiet cabin that allows for conversations while driving without effort.

Forgot to add I uploaded other photos to the album in my profile.

I wish it wasn't on the other side of the country, exactly what I'm looking for. GLWS

I'm interested but I will be out of town until the 27th. If you still have it then I would like to come by and look at it. Is there any rust/rot that needs attention? How would this be as a daily driver?

Thanks

Steven

I really wish I knew more about diesels...especially that engine. I want this truck!

The rust on it is surface stuff, nothing I've seen needs any attention.

I did daily drive this truck. I have never had any issues. While it does seep a little oil, I rarely ever add any between oil changes so its certainly not burning any. Drives like a normal old land cruiser with some suspension work, but gets a little better MPG.

I've got a couple of the best manuals I've found specific to the 6.2 going with the truck.
Its a mechanical diesel, so no electronics on it other that fuel shutoff.

I am interested and will able to come down to look at after the March 3rd, appointment with VW to buy back my dieselgate Golf SportWagon. I would like to replace it with a diesel cruiser, I almost bought a 91 with a cummins 4BT but it was rougher then the owner said and with some hidden surprises like a slight oil leak was actual pouring.

Does the A/C work? Any issues with the power seats or windows? Do you have the 3rd row jump seats?

Thanks

Steven

AC works, Charged it last summer and seems to be holding. No power seats in this model, power windows all go up and down. I do own the rear jump seats, but they are in MI at my parents place. I can't speak to the condition of them until I visit in April so I won't guarantee them as part of the sale in case they got trashed.
It does seep some oil, but its a few drops on the ground once and while. seems to happen less once I drive it for a few days.
You'll want some front brakes and rotors, they are OK, but are grooved and starting to grind.
I have most of the kit from Cdan for the front axel rebuild. Doesn't seem like it needs it, but was going to a preventative measure if I kept the truck.
PM your email and I'll add you to a drop box photo where I have a lot more pictures and some videos.

still got it? PM sent

sale in progress??? Still available??? or what??

Sorry for the delay in updating this. The truck has been sold and is now in possession of its new owner. Thanks everyone for the interest.
