had already removed 90% of it at that point. lol the guy loved tape. good thing is it protected the dash, which was about half white when I got it.

That light is for the timing belt, it comes on every 100k km indicating that the belt, tensioner and idler should be replaced. If you don’t have a record of if/when it was last done I’d get on that right away. Good to replace the water pump at the same time too.

Did I mention I bought another one? For no reason really, other than I am about to ship the diesel pickup back to Virginia--the papers have arrived in Dubai just yesterday.

truck is at the shop for service. lots to go through for mechanic. drove fine, shifting was hit and miss. going to have them replace clutch regardless for piece of mind. also told them they have to pull the one that's in there because that is not the transmission that came with truck.
new stereo and sound deadening on order. pretty much everything oddiron offroad offers for 70 series headed this way and this is first shot from partsouq to get into jordan. there will be more, just testing the customs procedures with the first one. also will probably replace the metal door inserts with covered wood similar to how I did an RJ77 last year.

mechanic is finally getting to this.... customs has been a huge issue. if anyone is sending stuff to Jordan, stay away from FEDEX. items didnt clear from 08 OCT arrival until two days ago. I was able to get most everything else through APO, thankfully.
list of what's being worked this week:
all fluids, etc. installing AC, making sure heater works.
new wheels... 17 inch Hilux Steel wheels with Michelin LTX AT2 235/80r17. wheel spacers on hand if required.
needs some body work also, will get that taken care of here as well.

update. still in shop. electrical being gone through. and I mean all of it. new leaf springs installed as well. ordered most components from @cruiseroutfit. told local shop I couldn't get the springs due to weight and customs being 70% tariff if I FEDEX them. they had local spring shop fab up 5 cm+ springs. haven't seen it in person yet. soooo.
hopefully within next few days... now to decide if I want to keep it same color. paint job here under well under 1kUS complete, and thats almost double most rates here.

got it.. finally. didn't get to drive much. tomorrow will air it out. AC and heat both working.
doing stereo tomorrow. head unit, amp, speakers, dynamat.
will go in Saturday for body work. paint. still undecided on color change. 6L4 is looking good, or leave whatever color this is. original was 045 white, so it will not be original no matter what.

back in the shop. new radio, speakers, amp, etc.
also Dynamat installed. told guy to toss the Bedouin floor cover. hand sewn plastic and all. have to try and source a new something another now.
seats will get a go over soon too. looks ok in pics, but they are tied together with rope in the back.. or bedouinized as I call it.

lockdown day here (Friday).. so got the weather stripping and seals on the way for paint. and the hood latch is not so good. combination partsouq and megazip. will take a week or two to get it all together, hope to have truck back Sat or Sunday and start putting miles on it.

running fine. fuel gauge may be stuck at full. not sure if aux tank is feeding main, had them both filled at same time, was on about 1/8 tank, went to F. drove 200 or so miles, still on F.

doors off, bodywork almost complete. color chosen, paint starts soon. went way away from what the guys were expecting and caught the owner off guard. unique 75 coming up. will have liner in back, on rocker panels, and bumpers, hood will have black also, where it rises on left and right, blacked out on emblems, door handles, etc.
they are taking top off to get interior done.. originally going to be close to what was on it, so wasn't worried about interior so much. but with complete change, inside getting done, dropping windshield as well to get dash good. 4X0 can't wait to see it now.. have interior guy lined up also to get new floor vinyl that doesn't look like an old trash bag that was sewn together.

paint update and attention to detail from these guys is crazy. not complaining. they are going to take a look at fuel gauge issue I am having as well. no rush, but looking forward to seeing it completed. anything else maybe to address while its in this form?
