Trying to replace the key ignition switch but for some reason the new switch will not go in the last like inch….very frustrating. May have to just replace the barrel but would love to exhaust all other options before that. Thank you in advance.

There’s a trick to installing it. I don’t remember what it was but the key I think needs to be in it and maybe turned?
I installed an aftermarket ignition cylinder and it installed perfectly.

Yes I have the turned to the ACC position so the little button on the side will go in but the switch gets stuck about an inch from being fully installed….very unsure what could be blocking it.

- combo switch has to come off and swing out of the way on a FJ62


- you have cracked the cylinder body and receiver too a bit

- KEY MUST BE IN the ACC position to extract it or INSTALL it .....fyi
