Overview

Selling our 1988 FJ62. Not restored, but a mechanically solid, driver-grade LandCruiser with roofline and door-top rust, nad typical age-related surface rust on the undercarriage, with a strong drivetrain, including a Mudrak tune-up and transmission treatment this past month.

If you’re looking for a collector-level 62, this probably isn't it (though if you've got money to drop on the rust - then by all means go for it!). If you want a Cruiser that always starts, runs, drives well, and will keep going forever, this one fits the bill.

Mechanical Condition

  • Strong 3F-E motor — runs well, no issues
  • Automatic transmission shifts properly
  • Just picked up from Mudrak with a tune-up and transmission treatment
  • Clean underneath for a CA truck of this age
  • Tires in good shape: BFGoodrich KO2 LT265/75R16
All maintenance during our ownership has been done by:
  • The Toy Shop (San Francisco)
  • Mudrak (Sonoma, CA) – last 3 years

Body & Interior

  • Rust present on roofline and door tops (see photos)
  • Paint is two-tone blue-gray with darker lower panels. chips in some places - see pics.
  • Interior is presentable for age with typical wear for age in the seats (a rip on drivers side) and cracks in the dash.
  • No smoking, no pets
  • Owner’s manual included
  • Sony CD head unit + updated speakers

Who This Truck Is For

  • Someone who wants a usable FJ62 right now
  • A buyer who may invest $20–30k in rust remediation over time
  • Or someone who wants a surf / camping / work truck and plans to enjoy it as-is - which is what we've done all up and down the California coast.

Terms

  • $6,000 firm for serious buyers
  • Sold as-is, where-is
  • Happy to answer detailed questions and provide additional photos
