Howdy... I am finally getting around to rebuilding the carb on my FJ.

I bought a kit online and it seems to be missing a part or three, so I am getting ready to buy a new kit from Kurt, that and a vac. secondary diaphragm.

My question for you Toyota types is if you know what this little valve does on the side of the carb base. I dont see a boot or any replacement parts in any of the kits....

I attached a pic.

Thanks in advance.

Secondary Slow Cut Valve. I don't think there are any parts available for them anymore. Just a heads up if this is your first rebuild on these carbs, the power valve has a jet screwed into the bottom of it...I missed that on my first Aisan.

It's NLA. If yours leaks, the only fix is to drill out the guts of the pump, then tap it with an 8x1.25 tap, and then put a bolt in there with a little bit of JB Weld to seal it up.

It's the secondary slow port?? Some carb guru can tell you exactly what it does, but I did the above fix on mine, with no noticeable change in performance. Just no more valve leaking fuel all over.
