Probably like a Unicorn- but you guys come through all the time. I need a 1983/84 Radio Delete Plate for the newer dash on the 83/84.

Hey @BTUMAN did you ever manage to hunt down that unicorn? Only found out about it now, not sure however if this was also used in the 83/84 dashes of the 40 series. Do you know? Cheers

if your still looking , i have Reproduced these same exact Radio DELETE Face Plates ,
there Injection Molded and extremely good quality , as we used a NOS one as a CLONE to make out mold from ..,.
YES , they will fit the 1983 and 1984 Silver & Black late Modle FJ40 switch panel overlay
also , 70 series too
this particular OEM AUDIO BLANK / DELETE plate will fit ANT full size SINGLE DIN. opening , and can also be utilized in a DOUBLE DIN. application
also , w/ another FULL size single DIN component , such as a late modle CB40F , or the Full size SINGLE DIN. size spec. INCLOMETER Varity too

Sorry - can't send photo's because haven't found a box that fits. I do not want to mount a radio, but instead a storage box that is closed off by the radio delete plate. When I look at the plate it looks like it has 2 tabs on the side that will allow it to rotate down. That will allow me to store things in the box discretely.
My thinking now:
1. find a nice box that will fit and which I can use with the delete plate
2. fabricate brackets like the originals (posted in this thread by @FJ40GURU : Vendor - NOS OEM FJ40, FJ45, HJ47, BJ42 radio - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/nos-oem-fj40-fj45-hj47-bj42-radio.1124410/)
3. mount box with brackets using the original holes behind the switch panel
4. clip in the delete plate
Thoughts?

That would be awesome, do you have a suggestion where I might find one that fits in a 1983 dash that has the knob cluster? I bought one off Ebay that I hoped would fit but it didn't. Did Toyota leave a hole there (behind the delete plate) if a radio wasn't installed? Thanks for your help so far!
