Knocked out a couple of quality-of-ownership type upgrades. Rear hatch struts were shot, so I snagged a couple of replacements and popped them in. This should have been super straightforward, but the captive nut on passenger body end broke loose and dropped down into the body cavity, never to be seen again. Fortunately I had a matching nut for the new stud. I recruited my 7yo, his small hands, and a piece of double-sticky tape to get the nut up into the body where I needed it. It's officially his first contribution to the truck project, which I'm excited about. I'm confident that some day he'll realize this thing is awesome; for now his assessment is just "it's hard to get into." 
I also swapped out the original mirrors for a set of 70 series mirrors from City Racer. They are just as advertised - an easy swap with a bit of a gap between base gasket and body that I'd call inconsequential. It's well worth it in my mind for the much-improved field of view.
