This is one of the most unique 4 x 4´s in the USA. Very rare, and proven tough, the Patrol was Nissan´s entry in the early battle for 4 x 4 supremacy over 50 years ago. The 60 series Patrol (1959 – 1980) earned its reputation as one of the world´s toughest 4 x 4´s by conquering the harshest conditions in Australia, Africa, and South America. This 1978 model is very rare because it was never offered in the USA (only in limited numbers from 1962 to 1969).
This Patrol is in great shape and features; a completely rebuilt original 6 cylinder 4.0 liter gas motor (crank reconditioned, block honed, new bearings, new pistons, new camshaft, rebuilt cylinder head, rebuilt carb, and electronic ignition). It has the rebuilt original 3 speed transmission, rebuilt transfer case with separate low/high and 2wd/4wd options and new locking hubs. The suspension is all new with a 4¨ lift and coil over shocks with the original solid axles. It has a new power steering system, 35¨ AT tires, wide aluminum wheels, custom fiberglass fender flares, and a rust free frame and body. She has a split bench seat in front, fold down rear seats that accommodate up to 6 adults, CD player, four sets of adjustable air vents in front, and sliding rear side windows. The newer bright red paint looks great, and the customs bumpers, rock sliders, fender flares, and large roof rack make it ready for any adventure.
