Selling my BJ40.

Excellent running condition. Engine turns over every time, diesel runs perfectly. Inspected and maintained by Toyota Canada Quality Assurance engineer and corporate office mechanic. The truck works, guaranteed. No gremlins. Replaced the brake lights recently. Everything else is relatively stock save the roof rack and front frame with high beams. Love this truck, have to sell, wife is pregnant.

Would be interested in more pics (interior?). Also more info: is it originally Canadian? mileage? is engine original? is paint original? would also appreciate pictures of the usual rust zones. Thanks!

x2 on more pics, including frame, drivetrain, axles, and suspension components.

Per this post: '78 BJ40 Engine Start Trouble - seeking advice

Looks like it's from Costa Rica.

Not sure why you want us to PM you for more info vs just posting it here? Multiple people have asked and I'd appreciate what other members think about the truck since I've never owned a Landcruiser before.

^^^x2. FWIW, at your price point, prospective buyers (before calling or PMing you) might want to assess if it is worth a PM. To some, your sales strategy creates potential doubt. The other factor that enhances doubt is its from Costa Rica. Don’t want to generalize, but there are enough data points on SA trucks here on Mud to give buyers pause. Yours maybe fantastic but none can assess with the information shared. Alleviate this doubt. A few thumb clicks is all it takes. Share more if you want to garner more interest. It’s moot anyway. If you share more pics with a prospective buyer that does not know much via PM, that person can and will post these additional pictures here on Mud to get their opinion before making a purchase. Looks like you have a great truck. GLWS.

Thanks for your interest. I appreciate people are curious about the origin / history of the truck, am happy to share all the needed information. In my experience, especially with cruisers, people have lots of questions, and 99% of them are just truck fans. They are not serious about acquiring one and only want to feed their interest with truck porn. This truck has been inspected and maintained by Toyota Canada head office mechanics and the evaluated by quality assurance engineers. And I'm happy to put serious buyers in touch with Toyota Canada. The truck will be on display at the TC vintage employee car show in August as well. If you are serious about the truck please inquire through a PM.

Thats idiocy. Even if it is just a "truck fan" why would you not want to put the information on the forum to stop people asking the same questions. It looks like you have a very nice truck and GLWS but damn..

Idiocy? Wow, is a that how you speak to people who are being perfectly polite and straight forward. Why to keep it classy.
