OVERALL: Add by the PO I purchased her from......
THIS FJ40 IS READY TO GO NOTHING HAS TO BE DONE JUST TURN KEY AND GO, AS STATED ABOVE THIS CRUISER WAS PURCHASED FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAS ONLY 89,700 ORIGINAL MILES, IT IS KEPT ORIGINAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A COUPLE OF ITEMS. ALOT DETAIL HAS GONE INTO THIS CRUISER. THE NEW PAINT AND THE WAY THIS CRUISER PERFORMS WILL CATCH YOURS AND EVERYONE ELSES EYE. THE RESERVE HAS BEEN SET LOW SO DON'T LET THIS ONE SLIP BY YOU. WE KEEP THE RESERVE LOW AND HAVE 100% POSITVE FEED BACK SO BID WITH CONFIDENCE. ALSO FEEL FREE TO VIEW MY FEEDBACK AND LOOK AT QUAILTY AND WORKMANSHIP OF PREVIOUS FJ40 LANDCRUISERS I HAVE SOLD, THANKS AND HAPPY BIDDING.

The only thing we had done to her was to have some work done to get her smogged which had cost around $2500. I'll have to double check the labor costs on that.

She is also starting to show a little spot/surface rust from being so close to the ocean. I'll add some pics which was taken by my wife in the last couple days.

So we are finally ready to put her back up for sale because we really don't ever drive her so up for grabs she is.

We have owned her for just over 3 years. I bought her for my wife while I was in the desert of Afghanistan for her 33rd Birthday in 2007. My wife, as the Cruiser were both born in 77.

Sorry to say she, the Cruiser must go. Since we have owned her we have only driven her around our home in South Orange and logged maybe 2000 miles,

She was not a DD, too perfect and not something we wanted to put a lot of miles on. She is truly beautiful.

We want to sell her for around $17,000 (Or Best Offer). You’ll understand why when you see her.

She has passed smog, new ALT and some Carb work.

I'm heading back to Afghanistan on Jan 4th 2011 and not sure when I'll be returning (5-6 months at the earliest). My wife will field most of your question her email is andreal99@hotmail.com.

The pics should speak for themselves.

I don't have reliable internet connectivity where I'll be but my email is: boerboel313@yahoo.com. Please send your questions to both my and my wifes email address'.

Thanks much....

Some more pic of our 1977 Fj 40. All new upholstery, windows, weather stripping, lights, lenses, hoses and belts at the time we bought it. All gauges work, starts everytime and a real pleasure to drive on the highway or along the PCH.

Small dent on rear heater that is not in these pics. Wife droped something on it before I even got home.

PM me and I will provide all the pics of her.

We hate to see her go but it's the right thing to do so someone else can enjoy her. Some day we will buy another that's be can beat around a bit and won't be afraid to take it on the trail with our 84 Fj 60, which will be at Surf and Turf 2009. Our Tan Cruiser will have a huge Marine Corps Sticker in the rear window, 4X4 labs rear bumper, SROR Sliders, Snorkle and a VA Lic plate which reads "TOMBI".

Hope to see you there and again the 40 will not be with us, but it is down in Southern Orange County, CA.

OK. I've been a member now for many years and I have never asked. What does "Bump" mean. As in to bump to a new location within the forum?

Someone please explain.

Thanks

Nice car, very clean.

I am interested, ill find you at SNT on saturday and we can talk a little more in detail, assuming the car does not sell by then.

When someone posts bump, it moves you thread up in the listto the top.

Lottery gods please smile on me tonight:clap:

Hey guys, thanks for all the interest. Thanks for explaining Bump, and busting my chops. I may live in the communtist state but I'm still a VA res through and through. Looking for 100 acres in another state.

So I have good new and I have bad new. Bad or Good first?????

Bad News:
I’m sorry to say that she is no longer up for sale.

Good News:
Nor was she sold. She will be kept in the Manella Family Stables for a little while longer. The wife is not ready to give up her 30th Birthday present up just yet. Sorry....

More Good News:
Don’t fret as she will not be chopped up or modified in any way, except to replace her 50% worn 31's for the next to new 32’’ BFG A/T off my 60 when I buy the 33”s. She will also be stored and driven monthly to keep her juices flowing and to complete routine maintenance.

I do promise that if and when we do re-list her in the future it will be on “MUD” for the first month or so (I promise). After all we need to give our extended family first dibs on her.

Thanks guys and she will be up again in the future.

Is it possible to be happy and sad at the same time??? Awesome looking truck....keep on keeping on!!!

edit- That was a good year!!! I always wanted a '77 due to it being my birth year, but had to settle for a '75 eh, who cares, it's still a 40!!!

Thanks all and Sorry once again. We'll see what the future holds.

Take care and see you all at Sn'Turf 2009.

OMG - met your lovely wife outside the trophy store in Laguna Niguel awhile back. I was drooling over this 40 when she walked up! I specifically remember her telling me it she and the 40 were the same age and that you were stationed overseas!!! Happy to hear you are holding on to the 40 for now. It is everything you've stated it is and more! Thanks for your service to this country!!!!!!!!!!!

Sent you a PM. Please let me know if/when you decide to sell as that is exactly what I am looking to buy.

95% restored 1977 Fj40

We are ready to sell her now.

Been here awhile. What does "Bump" mean again. Sorry she wasn't what you were looking for.

bump is something people say to "bump" the thread to the top of the listings or bring it to the front page again to hopefully assist in the gaining of views or interest with the intent to help the sale.

hope your deployment to afghan was a successful one. good luck with the sale. thats one beautiful truck. :)

Thanks brother for the explanation.
