Most of the air conditioning retrofits I have seen on the FJ40 relocate the A/C compressor where the alternator typically sits, and move the alternator below it. I'm afraid that might not work with my large-case alternator. Has anyone done this with the Mean Green or GM alternator?

Yes, a GM alternator will fit below the compressor with the Vintage Air relocation bracket. That is how I have mine set up. Alternately install the 60 mounts and run the AC compressor like in a 60.

Thanks for the help! I just realized, Vintage Air has two bracket-styles to choose from - One with an OEM Toyota alternator, and the other with a GM alternator. This solves my problem!
