IN Colombia they fix and modify anything ! They are the most creative people one can find. These trucks are typically seen in the small towns and are used for moving supplies from the big cities to the towns and then bringing coffee and all sorts of food supplies to the markets. I have only seen a couple with the original beds. Otherwise they are used as trucks, with small truck beds. They keep their trucks in super good condition but they are notorious for modifying everything . I once saw a 45 sold with a Renault 4' clylinder engine ! No bull.
This guy will eventually go to Bogota and get a manufactured bed that no one will be able to tell from the original. A friend of mine just did this and his truck looks as original as it can get. Other things to worry is wether or not the truck is a genuine 77 or maybe an 80 , people there change everything . But at the end is a Toyota and that is what it matters. I have a 80 fj45 stored at my farm , my dad bought it new. We used it as a work truck till I decided to retire it. What a truck.

I concur with @MANFJ45, this is one is a very special truck. Has a 79+ cab, gas tank under the bed, and square bezel, but I wondered to what extent was it worth it to replace the cab just to make it 80 and above. I too was like WTF when I bought this cruiser nothing matches the year. I have a complete Pre78 cab that I can use, the gas tank you see is pre78 as well. I had started purchasing items to make it year correct, but I am wondering what the concensus on here is on that. Would you rather have a year correct FJ45 or an upgraded FJ45.
