on my '76 45 I have (what I imagine is the standard) a Red Colored light on the dash labled "Brake". All the gauges work so I assume this one does too. Problem is, I've never seen it light up. Is this a good thing or a bad thing??

What does this light tell me?

How do I check to see if it is functioning?

Thanks guys!

Eddie

That's for the low vacuum alert for the brakes, when there's no vacuum present, the light will illuminate and there should be an audible alarm. Good way to test for this is to repeatedly depress the brake pedal with the ignition on.

might be connected to the metal clips on the bottom of the master cylinder? I recall my 76 having an electrical sensor on the bottom of the master cylinder. two screw in plug thingys on bottom of brake master has 2 metal pins that two green electrical contacts clip onto. Not sure their exact function but to possibly tell you that you are possibly in trouble next time you try and hit brakes and there is no fluid.
